NKYFL Playoff Predictions

Featured Replies

Are the brackes out on any web site? As someone stated before the NKYFL is terrible at updates on the web site and facebook etc...

Agree on this.

Again, completely understand the directors are slammed with a hundred different things this time of year...BUT, there really needs to be some sort of overhaul of the website and some sort of social media attempt to distribute scores/share news and updates. In terms of information distribution and utilizing all the available outlets, the NKYFL is currently stuck in about 2010.

Reasons for Delays

Head Director turning in scores.

Head Director getting stores from there Coaches.

Having someone verify these scores are correct.

Wait for reply again. Because most are not correct.

Scheduling games requires approval on Monday from school ADs.

No 1 reason.

To many people complaining, no one wants to do the job. Because to many people complaining.

I understand the reasons for some delays, especially regarding the schedule, but not w/ the scores. Clearly their system is flawed. And I don't buy that nobody wants to do the job...I offered to help and didn't get a reply back.

How hard would it be to assign a point man from each organization to gather all the scores and send to the league by Sunday evening? If the scores match, then post it!

The Head Director is the Point man.

Editing my previous post regarding the Taylor Mill Eagles Midget win over Bellevue. Harney only scored one touchdown. The other was scored by tailback Caleb Bannister.

The Head Director is the Point man.

I get that, but either the Head Director or the people they're relying on to gather the info are not getting it done. If that's the case, find someone that will. Every organization in the league has people that can send a quick text at the end of the game to their Head Director.

This isn't quantum physics. It just takes a little "can do" attitude and less excuse making. Again, they still haven't updated last year's playoff brackets.

In other American Division Midget scores, #1 Ludlow defeated #8 Dayton, 19-0, and #2 Newport ousted #7 Walton-Verona, 20-0.

This sets up the following semi-final matchups:

#1 Ludlow vs. #4 Taylor Mill

The gritty Panthers squad will square off against the Cash Harney led Eagles. Ludlow throttled TME, 27-6, in their matchup a few weeks ago. The question here is can TME, who has the best group of skill position players remaining in Harney, Bannister and FB Jayden Dodd, handle the physical, blitzing defense of Ludlow. In the first matchup between these two teams, Ludlow completely dominated the line of scrimmage.

Also, rumors of injuries in the Ludlow camp hit the grapevine this weekend, so it will be interesting to see if any of the Panther's top end players are out. Further, Ludlow's in-season edge of having only 12-14 players vs. heavily rostered teams like TME/Spartans can be tossed aside. In this game, TME won't have to substitute, which may narrow the gap.

#2 Newport vs. #3 Spartans

This game will matchup two of the division's most physical teams that battled a few weeks ago. In that contest, Newport won 6-0 in overtime. Newport is led by tailback #3 AJ Lowe, who scored the lone touchdown in the earlier matchup. The Spartans, meanwhile, are led by tailback Cam Schroer, who pulled off the rare football hat trick last week, running one in, throwing one, and catching a touchdown pass as well.

The question in this game is will the up and down SYF offense shows up? The offense that struggles and continually beats itself or the version that is crisp and moves up and down the field. Also, can Newport mount any sort of effective attack against the Spartan defense that allowed just four touchdowns in the regular season?

If the Spartans come out crisply on offense, they should move onto the Super Bowl. Anything less than that and Newport - who will win a physical contest - will advance.

PREDICTIONS:

Ludlow in a rout over Taylor Mill

Spartans squeak by Newport

SUPER BOWL: Ludlow vs. Spartans

Until some changes are made at the top of command/board members. This poorly ran organization will continue to suffer and lag behind in today's society of technology...

Hmmmm. While I think the information distribution department is lacking, I actually think the league is very well run considering the gigantic operation that it actually is. Why do you think it's poorly run?

I agree. It's ran really well. The communication can improve dramatically, but overall a great league.

Where and what time does the Spartan and Raiders Junior youth game take place?

I believe it's 230 pm Sunday at Newport. Should be a heck of a game.

The American Division Midget playoffs should be fantastic. #1 seed Ludlow is the favorite with three VERY evenly matched teams - #2 Newport, #3 Spartans, and #4 Taylor Mill - right behind them.

SYF was the only team that challenged Ludlow during the regular season. In that game, Ludlow scored on a halfback pass for the games only score to defeat the defensive stalwart Spartans, 6-0.

Newport stunned the Spartans three weeks ago, 6-0, and pulled out a 32-31 triple OT victory over Taylor Mill last week to lock down the #2 seed. They are a physical team with an outstanding tailback - #3. The big question for them ... was their win over SYF a fluke or are they THAT good? We'll see in round 2.

TME has the most talented group of skill players, including QB #5 Cash Harney, who is one of the top 2-3 players in the American Division. They have shown flashes of brilliant offensively and can score in bunches, but their defense isn't in the league of SYF, Newport or Ludlow. They also have the toughest draw as they'll face Ludlow in round 2.

DARKHORSE - Bellevue

SUPER BOWL CHAMPS - Ludlow

UPSET ALERT - Spartans over Newport

LEAGUE MVP - Cash Harney - TME

COACH OF THE YEAR - Ludlow staff

Harney is a good qb at midget level. Bandits have a good midget qb. South Kenton Junior Youth qb is playing up and should be a midget qb he has wob back to back Super Bowls, a win Sunday and 3 superbowls in a row.

Brackets are up on nkyfl, someone must be listening....

Harney is better than good. Not taking anything away from SK JY QB at all...but, when you see what Harney brings to the table in terms of arm strength, ability to run out of multiple sets, and his leadership skills. Very impressive for a kid that young.

If he had a line...wow.
