National Midget Youth: UR vs Bandits. UR in a close one.

National Midget: UR vs Bandits. UR by 2 TD's

National Junior Youth: UR vs CCRD. CCRD in a close one.

National Junior: BT vs CCRD. CCRD by 3 TD's

I wouldn't count the South Kenton Junior youth team out they have won back to back superbowls. They are playing good football right now.

Remember folks...NKYFL youth divisions are a SEEDED mix of American & National division teams.

The American Division Midget playoffs should be fantastic. #1 seed Ludlow is the favorite with three VERY evenly matched teams - #2 Newport, #3 Spartans, and #4 Taylor Mill - right behind them.

 

SYF was the only team that challenged Ludlow during the regular season. In that game, Ludlow scored on a halfback pass for the games only score to defeat the defensive stalwart Spartans, 6-0.

 

Newport stunned the Spartans three weeks ago, 6-0, and pulled out a 32-31 triple OT victory over Taylor Mill last week to lock down the #2 seed. They are a physical team with an outstanding tailback - #3. The big question for them ... was their win over SYF a fluke or are they THAT good? We'll see in round 2.

 

TME has the most talented group of skill players, including QB #5 Cash Harney, who is one of the top 2-3 players in the American Division. They have shown flashes of brilliant offensively and can score in bunches, but their defense isn't in the league of SYF, Newport or Ludlow. They also have the toughest draw as they'll face Ludlow in round 2.

Not as familiar w/ the JR teams, but it seems like SK has lost a lot of the "Super Bowl" talent this year.

Yep, Ludlow lost to the Bandits, 7-6, on a game ending touchdown drive/conversion. They're good, well coached (including some nifty "gamesmanship" by the Panther staff); and have size/speed.

 

The only team that can touch them - likely - is SYF who blitzed them like crazy and the Panther line struggled. Question is, can SYF hit or miss offense score against their D?

They handled the Spartan Junior youth pretty easy Sunday night I believe the score was 14 to 0.

They still haven't completed last year's brackets! Such a shame. They have a nice website and plenty of support, but can't find a way to keep the scores updated.
