final

John Giles was out tonight due to minor injury and Malakai Anderson played after being out the last 2 weeks.

Total yards

Russell - 405

Pendleton County - 186

Grant Bates - 136 yards and 3 TDs on 8 carries

Landen Duvall - 131 yards and a TD on 6 carries

So how is District 5 shaping up in standings?

1 Fleming

2 Russell

3 Bath?

4 Pendleton?

5 West Carter?

If I'm not mistaken, Pendleton County led 14-7 early in the contest.

Right now it's...

1. Fleming 3-0

2. Bath 2-0

3. Russell 2-1

4. Lewis 1-1

5. Pendleton 0-3

Bath should move to 3-0 tonight. The 2 seed will likely come down to the Russell/Bath game on Oct. 20th.

That's correct. Russell stuffed Pendleton on the first couple of plays before the Wildcats surprised Russell with a deep ball that went for a 52 yard TD. After Russell answered with a score of their own, Pendleton returned the ensuing kickoff to the Russell 17. A few plays later, they punched it in.

Looks like that might have been a great time for a power outage.

And for those curious, or not knowing, District 5 is paired with District 4 this season. District games in D4 start this evening. There are four teams: Boyle County, Garrard County, Lexington Catholic, and Western Hills.

This region will be one to watch come playoff time. Could be a clean sweep for D4 in the 1st round. Western Hills and your Golden Lions are no pushovers. Fleming, Russell and/or Bath (who already got trounced by Wandale and Co.) would have to play very well to advance.
