He can't do much either. That's an every game thing behind the Bengals line. They get no push and rarely open up a hole. It's not like what Zeke gets of having a hole to run through that he can accelerate through and only have to worry about breaking tackles in the 2nd level against corners and safeties rather than d lineman and linebackers. Who you play for and what's around you does make a difference. As we are seeing with Gurley this year. You would think Gurley was horrible with how he looked in that system last year.

Say you are doing a fantasy draft. Zeke is with the Bengals and Mixon is with the cowboys. I would bet you many people who still took Zeke higher would be greatly disappointed. While people who took Mixon would look great because he would put up a lot better numbers than Zeke would behind the Bengals line. Put Zeke behind the Bengals line the last 2 years. No one would dare mention Zeke as one of the best in the NFL. In fact people probably would laugh like you just did if they thought that. My point is many running backs probably would look like the best back in the NFL behind that line, just like Zeke has. Gurley last year probably wasn't even considered a top 10 back anymore. Did it mean he was less talented all of a sudden? Nope. Except his situation was a lot tougher than say someone like Zeke. So I don't think it's to hard to fanthom than many backs may look like the best in the league behind the cowboys line.

McCoy with the Bills Fournette with the Jags Hunt with the Chiefs Cook with the Vikings David Johnson with the Cardinals Quite honestly I think Joe Mixon behind that line would look like a star too. Instead of never having anywhere to run behind the Bengals line. Honestly I think another OSU back Carlos Hyde would also have been considered a stud behind that line. All the guys mentioned like Zeke are very talented running backs. The difference is Zeke has a easier chance to show his talent behind the best line in football. If you switch Zeke with one of those guys I think he still does good. However the guy you switched him with probably then looks better than he would if he was on another team. Zeke is very good. I just think you could switch him with almost any of the guys I mentioned, and they would look better than other backs too just like Zeke does. You just mentioned 4 rookies who have 4 games under their belt. Come on man. Their is certainly tiers of running backs in this league. Guys who are elite level runners and elite catching the ball out of the backfield. These are the top guys: Bell, Gurley, Zeke, Shady, and Johnson. Kareem Hunt is well on his way to being on this list. I'll take any of these guys and put them on any team in the league and I think the team instantly gets better. The next tier is for guys like Hyde, Fournette, Murray, Cook, Anderson, Freeman, Gordon. After that it's a bunch of guys who in the right situation can be a second tier type back. The running back position is the most unique position in the sport because if you are stuck behind an atrocious line, looking at you Joe Mixon, then you can look absolutely horrible. I just don't think it's fair to act like Zeke isn't one of the best backs in the league just because he is running behind one of the best lines in the league.

Yeah the Bengals would still have a bad O line, but great players make plays and Zeke would still be able to make plays behind this O line just not as frequently as in Dallas. Maybe Mixon, Fournette, Cook all have rookie years like Zeke if they played behind the Cowboys line their rookie years. That's my point. Say Zeke was a Bengal, he probably isn't even in the discussion for best back. He probably gets laughed at like Mixon did when I said his name. It's easy to say Zeke would still do well considering we got to see him use his talents while behind that line. Behind another line and we may not get to see how good he was. Plus with his short fuse, does he stay patient enough to take all those plays for no gains, or does he start trying to do to much and ends up losing what makes him great. I never once said Zeke is bad. He is definitely very good and definitely a top 10 back. My point is I have a hard time saying he is top 2, when I do think a lot of the guys I mentioned are also extremely talented like him and would excel like him behind that line. I think the young rbs who came out of the draft these last 2 years are extremely talented including Zeke obviously.

October 5, 20178 yr Here's my take on Gurly. Jeff Fisher was an awful coach for an offense and Whitworth was vastly underrated outside of Cincy.
October 18, 20178 yr Back to this topic. Watched him this past Sunday and he is very good. Jags have a solid D and everytime he carried he was getting 5-7 yards with ease. I won't be truly biased but my boy Lenny is the real deal too. Top 5 back already IMO.
