FS pass defense still improving. The pass rush was all over ACS QB Wilson tonight. Several of those 19 rushing attempts were sacks. I really thought ACS would score more and get more yardage than that.

Carlos McKinney got banged up and came out for a couple of series and James Baker filled in very nicely with a couple of TDs. McKinney came back in a little later and seems to be OK.

I wouldn't be shocked if these two teams played again for the region title.

Franklin won the game in the third quarter, even though there was no scoring. After ACS went three and out, they pinned Franklin on their own 10, their worst starting position of the night to that point. Franklin proceeded to drive 89 yards and burn some 10 minutes off the clock. They were ultimately stopped on downs at the one, but the Patriot defense was gassed from the effort. Franklin promptly held ACS to no yards (may have even lost a half yard), and they punted from their own end zone. On the first play of the fourth quarter, Franklin put it away. You could just tell the Wildcats were fresher at that point.

It didn't help ACS that their most effective rusher was lost for the game with a knee injury, possibly one that will keep him out for games or even the season. But ultimately what doomed them offensively was an inability to cope with the Franklin pass rush.

This team could very easily become better than last years. This team isn’t a one man team. There is someone different stepping up every game. Baker?? Bass?? Partinger?? Covington?? FS is used to hearing Brady - McKinney but adding these others to the offense is very telling to the progress they are making at FS. They are getting better all the time. The defense is getting stronger every week too. To do what they did last night holding ACS to -3 in the 2nd half is huge. Their improvement to this point is very telling and should be troubling to the rest of their district, region and state.
