Class 3A

 

Corbin is one of the hottest teams in the state after back to back head turning wins. The Redhounds have risen to the top ranking and will face another battle as they must travel to Class 1A's top team. Elizabethtown, Belfry, and Lexington Catholic each secured "wow" wins against Class 6A foes by larger margins than many expected. Each of those schools must now take on ranked foes from other classes. Perhaps the most impressive win of the week was Central taking down 5A Fern Creek. The Yellowjackets look to knock off their second ranked 6A foe, Ballard.

It seems like we say that every week. Class 3A schools have shown themselves more than willing to go out and play strong competition.

Corbin is a solid #1 right now.

 

Out of the next 5 teams, I doubt any of them would come out undefeated in a round robin tournament against each other. All of them could easily go 2-2.

Everybody is following Central's script from 2007 forward.

I think any of the Top 4 could make a strong case to be #1.. The Alcoa win probably pushes Corbin to the top, but, the Fern Creek win by Central is also a very solid win. Belfry, who, until someone else in 3a knocks off, can still make a strong case and Elizabethtown is putting up huge numbers against better competition then they've played the past couple of years.. I don't think Lex Cath or Boyle could legitimately make a case for #1, but, both are certainly capable of beating any of the Top 4 on any given day..
