E-Town is legit.

As a North Hardin Parent, this game was a dumpster fire. Not taking away anything from Etown, they took advantage of every opportunity the NH coaching staff and lack of execution by the NH players given to them. I look forward to watching ETOWN through the rest of the season!!! NH Trojan Football continues to over promise, under deliver, and totally underwhelm. This program has done less with more under Thompson than at any other time in the last 2 decades. It is rumored that Coach Thompson's Pre-Game speech centered around the fact that Etown passed him over in the early 2000's before his exodus to Alabama with Brett Burnett to be his OL coach. Then again, Etown passed on Thompson, when he was the head coach of NH after 2 or 3 dismal season. Thompson expressed interest in the opening (not sure he actually applied but he expressed his interest) and was turned down for the HC position when Etown pursued and hired the retired Mark Brown rather than Thompson, a distinguished alumnus. (Obviously the Etown powers that be made the right pick and must be pleased with their selection!) North Hardin Football has many problems, and the murderous schedule on the horizon for the next 7 weeks. Maybe things will change at NH in the next year, but I am not seeing the powers that be there having the fortitude to make a change. We shall see. Good luck panthers!!!!

Elizabethtown plays near flawless football. They play like what they are, an experienced talented team on a mission.

 

Next Friday at CAL should be quite a game. The Panthers pull out that win they will run the regular season table.

First, allow me to say that I didn't get to see the game against E-town. Obviously, North didn't play well as indicated by the score. However, E-town is no slouch. Any team that is being mentioned as competing with Belfry, Corbin, and Central for a state title is a solid team regardless of classification. As far as football goes, North has some talent, but they lack depth. They have some speed at the skill positions, but it is young. From what I have seen they play very hard and play with some poise. They played very well against a John Hardin team in a rivalry game that was full of unsportsmanlike penalties and they kept their composure. Again, I wasn't in attendance at the E-town game and I cant speak to how they played with specifics. That being said, I do take issue with a couple of your statements and how you, as a parent of player, chose to address the situation. First, you stated that North has over promised and under delivered. I haven't heard North mentioned with the elite 6A teams in the state and I don't think anyone has promised a championship. North has been expected to be competitive and overall, they have been. They play quality non-district opponents (Bowling Green, PRP, Boyle County) and they play the rivalry games in their hometown. Since 2001, North has had one 9 win season, one 7 win season, and a few 6 wins campaigns sprinkled in. This past season, they won 6 which is about par for the course. So your statement about promises not delivered doesn't hold water. Its not like we are talking about some miracle nutritional supplement that promises the world and leaves people fatter and with less money than when they started. As far as the pre-game speech goes, what does it matter? Coaches choose to motivate in different ways. What is disturbing is that someone in that locker room, chose to speak about it outside of the locker room. Be it a staff member or player, that is a gutless and cowardly move. In closing, you didn't set a good example for your child or other parents. If you have issues with North Hardin Football, I suggest that you speak with Coach Thompson, like an adult, rather than flexing your keyboard muscles with a Zija fueled rant. I'm also sure that the North Hardin administration would be willing to listen to your concerns, provided that they are legitimate and not something petty like playing time. So next time, take a deep breath and think it over before you post something like this on a message board. Otherwise, you just come off looking bitter and like you have an axe to grind.

In a nutshell, North Hardin has the enrollment numbers and the talent to compete better. This is coming from a John Hardin fan. When your enrollment tops out at over 1500 kids which they typically do (I don't have the exact numbers this year) you should compete better state wide.

 

As for the composure statement many of JH players complained about late hits, alligator rolls at the end of tackles and overall dirty play against North last week. JH just happened to be the last to retaliate. This isn't a bitter statement from a sore loser; I think North deserved to win the game and they played their butts off to do it against John.

 

With all that being said, ETOWN is loaded this year and the biggest reason is Coach Brown. You can see his footprint all over this team. THIS is why JH dominated the scene when he was their coach. North should not lose to ETOWN 50-14, with a late garbage score at the end of the game against the JV.

I am not hiding behind a keyboard obviously @Thedreammachine you know who I am youre the one hiding behind a keyboard. you also know I have been associated with NH football since 2006, been in The NH community, and have seen alot more with NH than you can see.
