This is why I credit McCracken for playing Mayfield. Some bigger schools around here won't. When McCracken wins it's "Well, you're a 6A, you SHOULD win. When Mayfield wins, it's "How could you lose to a 2A?" Can't win either way with some people.

I disagree and hate when people use that excuse. Mayfield has been beating teams bigger than their class forever and expect to do so.

McCracken should at least be competitive against every school in this area... if not ...then there's something rotten in Denmark.

This one may be closer than some are predicting. Emotional let-down for MF following the PT game, all the talk about how bad MC is this year, trash talking from GC has already started, MC is convinced MF is their SuperBowl, etc. may factor in early. In the end though, the likes of Cash Jones, Quame Jones, and Tyce Daniel aren't running through that tunnel for MC. MF 28 - MC 10.

I get the classification is about the number of boys in the school. But Mayfield, Desales and CAL have about one of every three or four boys who play football. Football is numbers.

I disagree...it's not who has the most players...it's who gets the most out of the players they have. We have made a habit out of beating teams who have more numbers than we do. At Mayfield, we have coaches who know what they are doing and players who believe in their coaches, and that is true regardless of how many players are on the team. We are a small public school that does not field 70-90 players.

Mcpressbox's points are still valid, some larger schools don't want to play mayfield, and it's a no win situation for MC.
