August 20, 20179 yr Well, let's support the guy and hope he and "the entire team" can win a Super Bowl... Remember, Anderson and Esiason didn't win a Super Bowl either... heck, they weren't even very successful getting to or performing well in the playoffs... they each had 1 magical season where all the stars aligned and they made it to a SB.... It's not because they're bad QB's... it's because it's hard to do, it takes an entire team effort and lets face it.... it takes some luck... I still believe if Krumrie doesn't get hurt, they win that Super Bowl... that was purely bad luck.... It was Andy Daltons fault Krumrie got hurt.
August 20, 20179 yr *crickets* Crickets on what? McCarron when throwing to wrs who were not starters but will make the team looked good. When throwing to a guy who won't make the team he got picked on a pass Green catches if Green was the receiver he was throwing to.
August 20, 20179 yr You realize McCarron was throwing to a guy who won't make the team and hit him in the hands. If that same pass was to AJ Green it's probably a catch. We have seen countless times Green just snatching the ball out of the air to save poor throws by Dalton that may have been picked thrown to any other receiver. We all seen Dalton doesn't look anywhere close to good usually when he doesn't have people like Green or Eifert to throw to. That pass by McCarron was a half yard to far, but probably is caught by Green. So hard to make that comparison in saying that's why he is the backup. When if Dalton makes that same pass he has Green going for it making it look better when he snags it. You realize it wasn't a great throw and the intentional grounding was flat out stupid... If Dalton does either, you ream him for it.

He actually out performed 2 Hall of Famers he faced in 81-82 SB season. He outperformed Dan Fouts in their game and he outperformed Joe Montana in the SB. Boomer is another story and I wasn't a big Boomer fan. That's another story. But Boomer was horrible in the SB. Oh, yet both of them won playoff games.
August 20, 20179 yr It was high and behind him.. similar to the one Andy hit Green in the hands with on the first drive Actually, was too far in front of wr Yep to a receiver who won't make the team. If thrown to Green it's a catch. Just like we have seen Green do for Dalton many times on throws to far in front or behind him. So hard to compare when one has a top wr to throw to that can make up for poor throws.

When throwing to a guy who won't make the team he got picked on a pass Green catches if Green was the receiver he was throwing to. We got it... McCarron is better than Andy... I still think he'll play some, because no QB could last all season with this O-line... that includes mobile QB's, which neither AJ or Andy are

August 20, 20179 yr To help you out with Ken Anderson playoff stats. He completed over 66% of his passes in the post season and had a qb rating of 93 in the post season.

Green dropped a ball I could've caught on the first or second drive... a little high and behind and no defender around because the guy slipped
August 20, 20179 yr To help you out with Ken Anderson playoff stats. He completed over 66% of his passes in the post season and had a qb rating of 93 in the post season. Help me out with how many Playoff games he played in 14 years... Not many... and again, I don't blame him... I think he was a great QB
August 20, 20179 yr You realize it wasn't a great throw and the intentional grounding was flat out stupid... If Dalton does either, you ream him for it. Dalton has had intentional grounding that were bad before. Usually I don't say anything like that about him. I get on him for poor play in big games. Not every little play in a game. You have the wrong guy on that statement. As for the pass it was a half yard to far. You wanted to say that's why he is the backup. I'm pointing out Dalton has many throws like that where Green plucks it out of the air out of no where to save that poor throw. So should we say Dalton should be a backup since he makes throws like that too?
August 20, 20179 yr If anyone watched the last playoff game they'd see that the coaching handcuffed AJ the first 3 qtrs just like they did in the last game of the season. They had him hand the ball off most of the time or throw short dump passes. They actually didn't let him open up until they were down 19 and look what he did once they turned him lose. MacCaron did what Dalton never could do in any of his 4 playoff games and that was come from behind and take the lead and out the team in position to win the game. They handcuffed him because he isn't Andy and didn't have the same grasp of the offense.
August 20, 20179 yr Crickets on what? McCarron when throwing to wrs who were not starters but will make the team looked good. When throwing to a guy who won't make the team he got picked on a pass Green catches if Green was the receiver he was throwing to. And made bad decisions against defenders who were not starters. It goes both ways.
August 20, 20179 yr Help me out with how many Playoff games he played in 14 years... Not many... and again, I don't blame him... I think he was a great QB 2011, 2012 Bengals made the playoffs because of the defense. 2014 they made the playoffs because of a top 6 running game. Only 2013 and 2015 while Dalton played was he and the offense making big contributions in wins. Dalton has benefited from the best defensive run in franchise history. Only 2 times in the last 6 years has the defense not been in the top 10 in total yards or points given up.

I said "that's why he's the back up" as an over reaction statement to match you and others that over react about Dalton... We all know the truth... we all know why McCarron is the back up... Dalton has earned the right to be the starting QB and AJ has done nothing to take it away from him... period. The year AJ went to the playoffs, Dalton was having quite possible the best season of any QB in the league, certainly a top 3 season.
