Best Middle Linebacker in the Mountain Region

Featured Replies

Ok, That's your opinion. I said Slusher is the best LB in the mountain region. I do not think he could play for Auburn but If he gets that chance I hope he has a great career with them & wish him the best of luck. There is a difference between being on the team & playing. Ask Tewayne (sp?) Willis of Perry Central. (Was on the UK football team a couple years ago)

Sounds like someone is jealous........What did your scholarship to Union fall through?

Blake Johnson of Johnson Central isn't, but he will be.

Chris Jackson and Ben Allex from Breathitt, are causing huge problumes for the team they play aginst. These two are outstanding. Jackson is a junior and Allex is only a freshman but these two are people to watch out for.

Slusher, Bell Co. I'm not sure on the name, but I remember a MLB from Williamsburgh High School last year that was a junior, I believe his last name was Root? However, I just remember his stats were pretty impressive for his size.

Slusher will go to Auburn and he will definitely play. His speed and size are consistent for D-1. He is also being recruited primarily for tight end at Auburn, something that no one has mentioned. His vertical leap of 38 inches for a player his size opened a lot of recruiters eyes at major combines across the country last year. He went out and perfomed for these coaches. That's what you have to do to get noticed. Two weeks ago Slusher intercepted a pass, unlike any I had ever seen a high school or college player do. He leaped high into the air, turned nearly sideways, on a pass that was to go way beyond him and snatched it out of the air. It took incredible leaping ability, tremendous strength, and unbelievable hands to pull that one off. Check out the films!

Yes and there's a big difference in Auburn and UK.

Watching him dunk is kinda impressive. I missed watching him on the bball court last season.

Yea I agree on Aaron Root from Williamsburg.....He had some ridiculous stats last year if I remember right. Seems to be very strong too

How can you say I'm jealous when I'm saying the kid is the best Linebaker in the mountains?

Dustin May from Belfry has to be at least mentioned. I think he deserves to have his name thrown out. He has impressive size and speed @ 6'2 220

If he can come in for his senior campaign at 230 or 235 and gain a step or so, I think he could play some significant college ball.

What year is May??

Junior. He rushed for over 1000 yards last season from the fullback position and currently is ranked 4th is y/pg in all of 2a, again as a fullback.

But, just wanted to bring to peoples attention, he plays a very solid and natural LB.

I see him possible being more of a weakside LB at the next level. He runs well, and could easily play tailback for the Pirates.

What year is May??

Junior

Just to clarify, I was basing the abovementioned stats on the current (to this minute) stats on Khsaa.org.

I do not beleive them to ulitimately be correct. I see no Mercer Co. after looking more closely. Other teams may be ommitted at the moment as well.
