May 1, 20179 yr I always thought the 56 game streak was sort of .............IDK just a not all that significant thing because it can only occur during the season which is limited to 162 games. To me if someone hit in 30 to end a season and 35 to start the next season it would be a better accomplishment but would not be recognized as one. So I think the highest average in a 56 game stretch is the better accomplishment.

Several guys in the all time lust have streaks that were over two seasons, the last being Jimmy Rollins in 2005-2006.
May 2, 20179 yr How many consecutive games did Brett hit in during that 1980 season? Had a 30 game streak in the middle of the season. Only went hitless in back to back games twice, both times early in the season.
