The Gardens is where I saw Andre the Giant wrestle against Ric Flair. Awesome experience.

  I saw Alice Cooper, David Lee Roth, Iron Maiden, Hank Williams JR all in concert there. Plus many more things I have fogotten over the years. A lot of memories there.

 

Only concert I can remember seeing there was Boston in '87, AWESOME show.

Also saw Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Cheap Trick, and Giuffria on the same bill.

Brothers-in-laws worked at the Gardens for awhile during and just after high school. We received from them tickets, to see a couple of concerts with front row seating. While it was great sitting in the first row, the music was so loud. it honestly hurt my ears.

 

Oh, I also found out that my wife loved hockey when she took me to a Swords game there years and years ago.

"The Greatest Show On Earth Circus" in the early 70's when I was about 7.

 

One Xavier game sometime in the 90's, but I don't recall who they played, or what prompted me to go - perhaps a free ticket.

-Iron Maiden/ Quiet Riot/ Twisted Sister - 1983

 

-Billy Squier/ Cinderella / Ratt - 1984

 

-Iron Maiden/ Megadeth - 1987 - (G n' R were scheduled just before they blew up but were replaced on the bill - I've never liked Megadeth, but at the time was digging a few G n' R tracks before eventually despising them too).

I was at the Garden on January 2, 1990 when Jamal Walker's jumper as time expired lifted Xavier to a 115-113 victory over Loyola Marymount.

I saw quite a few wrastling matches there as a kid which included junkyard dog, Andre the Giant, and Jimmy Valiant. Went to plenty of gun and knife shows. I saw Alice Cooper, David Lee Roth, Iron Maiden, Hank Williams JR all in concert there. Plus many more things I have fogotten over the years. A lot of memories there.

 

My dad, brother and me went up there when I was 12 or 13 ('82 or '83) to see an NWA card. Watched my avatar lock horns with the great Tully Blanchard, who won the match with his signature snap-suplex. Every match on the card ended up with the ring being stormed. Mad craziness.

Took my future wife to WWE on one of our first dates. She must have known I was a romantic devil right then!!

 

Also was there right after high school for wrestling. Think it was NWA but I was in concourse and heard door slamming from outside. Went and opened and it was Sting, Luther and Steiners. Showed them where locker room was and Scott Steiner was an idiot- Lex actually apologized.

 

In 2014 we were doing work just outside arena. At lunch I sat down next to building in shade and security guard asked if I wanted to go inside. I gladly accepted and he showed me where Beatles, Big O and others were at one time. Awesome!! Sad also. Shame it's going away.
