Anyone have this condition or know anyone that has been diagnosed with this?

 

Sleep sex, or sexsomnia, is a condition in which a person will engage in sexual activities while asleep. This condition falls within the broad class of sleep disorders known as parasomnias.

 

An Indiana guy just recently used this as his defense after being arrested for sexually assaulting a girl. From what I understand, this defense has actually proved effective in getting some people off(pardon the pun) in sexual assault cases.

 

I wonder how one is cured of this condition?

I'm sorry, folks, but the only way this guy ever has any sexual relations is if the girl is asleep or if Bill Cosby is his wingman.

It seems he had this condition diagnosed by a mental health provider before hand, so in that sense it seems to be a plausible defense. My question would be, legally speaking what responsibility does somebody diagnosed with that condition have in avoiding situations like these? Similar to laws that many states have requiring someone with HIV to disclose their medical condition to sex partners, does someone with this condition have to disclose it to bunk mates?
