To give credit where it's due, to some dude at Yappi, that certainly negates the depth "wear-down" advantage that GCL teams often have on their Northern KY counterparts.

 

Who knows? Could be a chance for a "world shocker."

My bad, wasn't listening very closely.

Just got back home from the game. First what a mess on the roads driving home......

 

CovCath "O" looked to me to be playing very well.... I know, I know but remember this, X team is a "D" stud of a ball club. The FG by Pop will get him a D1 Scholarship, if any college coach see the tape. I mean a 42 yard FG in a driving rain storm kicking it into a 25 mph wind. WOW!!!!

 

CovCath "D" looked tough, if not for the one block in the back call on CovCath special player on X punt that moved CovCath back 15 yards and into poor field position X would have never scored that TD...

 

Great game, dam the weather, as CovCath was moving the ball on the number 9 team in the USA.....

Just got back in myself. Getting out of X was a nightmare from where I was parked. Observations:

 

1) To the lady at X who said there would be "ample" parking, I would use a different adjective.

2) CovCath's special teams really helped them in the first half, giving X long fields to work with.

3) CovCath's D bent but didn't break.

4) CovCath's O seemed to be having success with misdirection running plays.

5) Darius Ashley is good.

6) I didn't like to see the game halted. Once CovCath seemed to adjust to the size/speed of X, game was played very evenly.

7) X is B-I-G. No team in Ky has that kind of speed and size.

8) Wasn't going to do this, but what is the deal with GCL bands playing during the game. Is it against the rules or not. Not a big deal, but definately an advantage when the opponent doesn't have a band.

9) The facilities at X (not the bathrooms!) are among the nicest I've ever seen on the high school level. Impressive.

5) Darius Ashley is good.
