March 10, 20179 yr Has anyone had this done before. Any local companies you would recommenced? (NKY) Is this worth the money? Cost? My wife is adamant we get this done.
March 10, 20179 yr Had it done when we bought our house in 2014. House had sat empty for almost 2 years so I cant tell you what the before was like. It was part of the deal with the HVAC guy when he serviced the Furnace and AC Unit (I think he outsourced it to someone else, couldnt tell you who so I am useless on that.) I can say this though, while I check the furnace filter about every 2 weeks or so, we have only changed furnace filters about 5 times in the almost 3 years we have been their. Very little if any dust and such on the filters. (the last 9 months of that is with a dog in the house all the time.) So IMO it cleaned everything out fairly well.
March 12, 20179 yr We had a foul smell com8ng from the air vents and called Mike Watson in Ft Thomas of Watson Heating & Air. He ran a camera down into the ducts and found our missing corn snake from 2 yrs earlier. My stepson was playing with his snake and it slithered off when he got distracted. We couldn't find him so just blew it off. He was maybe 12 inches when he went missing. Mike showed me the camera footage of the melted snake,in our ducts and told me,he would need to cut that piece out and replace it. That snake was 3 feet long and cooked. My wife freaked out. I guess it lived off mice in my crawlspace is the only thing I can think of. Funny story but we did have Watson clean our entire duct system and it wasn't that expensive. One time is really all you need.

They show up say we have mold in the vents and it would be $400 to get a deep cleaning to take care of that. I'm not sure I've ever heard of someone having mold in the air ducts in their house. Anyone have an issue like this before? None of us have any type of allergy issues.

June 15, 20179 yr Just her. Of course. I'd bet money they wouldn't have tried pulling this scam if you had been there as well. That's why I make Mr. Cat handle repair calls whether it's the house or cars. :angrybird8:
