February 21, 20179 yr I do know that when Obama took over, the market was just under $8k. When he left, it was just under $20k. I'm much better off now than I was then. I've also gotten a nice bump since Trump took over. If it keeps rising, I won't be mad. Any gains in the economy will go a long way in me being a little more forgiving if Trump keeps putting his foot in his mouth. I'm not a big fan of him as a person or with some of his policies and actions. But I'll give him just as much credit as Obama, if the the market more than doubles under his watch.

February 22, 20179 yr I do think it is dangerous for R's or D's to take much credit for market gains over short periods of time. I think Trump did have SOME effect on the market increase as Wall Street believes he will be pro business. However, this market is REALLY HIGH and poised for a correction no matter what Trump does. If Yellen (Federal Reserve) raises interest rates 3-4 times in the next 12 months, the market may act negatively. Of course Trump will be blamed even though he will have had nothing to do with it. Most market gains and losses are not controllable by anyone, including the President.
