There is a big difference in a player or a team being a position or two off in a set of rankings and a player that is CLEARLY in the top 3, if not number one, being ranked 8th.

 

If you can't see that difference we can just agree to disagree.

 

 

I have not seen any of them play this year, so it would be unfair to say for certain. However, according to most on here that seem to know, so he appears to be at last top 3. I have no idea why he wasn't and there could be a lot of reasons.

 

Collusion, I doubt that, many coaches take this earnestly. Now, do I think a couple could have left him off for some reason? Very possible and thus the results. I have no idea of the criteria for selection.

 

Unless this hurts the kid for schollys or a chance to compete in the Kentucky All- Stars (or the like) and that seems unlikely, then not a biggie to me.

I have no horse in this race, but at the end of the day, the division coaches rank the players on the ballot 1-12 using the point system. Many things are considered by the coaches I would think including how well they performed against that coach, each kids attitude(not saying anyone's is bad, as I don't know the kid), leadership etc., but it's not always most talent, but a combination of things on the court. The "player of the year" does not always equate to "most talented player". Furthermore, it only takes one coach to rank a kid low on the scale and that may impact where he ends up total vote wise. And as far as the comment that the NKBBCA is a joke, lets remember that these coaches give a lot of time, effort and scholarships to these kids, so I have to disagree that it is a "joke" Sounds sour grapes to me

 

When you lack integrity all the "good" things you do just don't matter as much.

I'm happy for all who made this list, especially the 10th region kids: Bertsch, Hegyi, and Ohmer. Since it's mostly 9th region schools, the 10th region schools/players that are in the NKBBCA sometimes get overlooked.

Seems like you're painting with a broad brush, Guru. There may always be a "lack of integrity" in each and every profession....coaches, teachers, law enforcement etc., but I'd venture to say most of these coaches have their integrity well intact. So I would contend that all the "Good" far supersedes any few "bad apples". And furthermore, you have no idea there was a lack of integrity....could have been a multitude of things that led to this result.
