Warren East over Warren Central, huh? It's a shame we won't get to see those county rivals play each other ... then we would know.

 

By the way, does anyone know who the Raiders are playing on their non-district schedule next year? Bowling Green? Warren Central? Greenwood?

I wish that they would play next year now that they have more open slots. Obviously they still consider other teams to be an upgrade over East.

Why?

Warren Central loses a 3 year starting qb, their 2 best athletes in Beason and Brooks, and 3 offensive lineman that have been 3 year starters. The coaching staff could be in limbo after this year as well. The Dragons will be begging for a contract with East 2 years from now.

I doubt very much that they would be begging for a contract. I don't care how resurgent East is, there's a reason that Warren Central has lost to them twice in their last 22 meetings.

 

Central will probably take some lumps next year, but they'll still be 2nd in their district, and they'll still be a .500 team or better. It wouldn't surprise me at all if East fails to be a .500 team with that schedule. They'll probably win their district though.

 

Two years from now, that's too far for either one of us to predict it.

If Graves is better than Henderson, it would have to be the best Graves team I have seen. Marshall beat Calloway 47 - 14 (I bet they put on the breaks). Graves wins by 14. Graves only beat HC by 23, which is a 1A team having a bad year. Do any of you know what Henderson would do to that team? Beating PT by 7!!! Henderson took their starters out at the end of the third 40-7 against them. I am sure after Moeller beats us by 50 we will drop more on some polls. And I am sure I will get hammered for this post, but I am just telling you Henderson is better than 8th.

The closest thing to an average team the Raiders will play this fall is Franklin-Simpson. Their last non-district game is against ... Muhlenberg North.

I'm not voting Graves over Henderson, but this might be the best team the Eagles have had since 1993, when they went 10-0 in the regular season and beat Paducah Tilghman and Hopkinsville to win the district title in Class 3A.

 

In their defense, Graves caught Hancock the week after their ultra-emotional win over Mayfield. And I suspect the Tilghman team you saw (a young team in their first road game after three straight at home) wasn't necessarily the one that played Graves.

 

I saw the Graves-Calloway game ... it was 28-14, but the outcome was never in doubt. I believe Marshall led Calloway 28-14 at the half and pulled away in the second half.

Central has a better team and program than Warren East. They do now and they will in 2 years. But if Central wants to load up with the Manuals of the world they will wish they had scheduled a few East's. I'm not saying East is better than Central, because I don't think they are. If what Cynical says is true, I think the reason Central won't play East is because they are afraid of getting a little egg on their face if they were to lose.
