Holy Cross 59 Beechwood 51

Featured Replies

HC was up 50-32 with about 5 min left and let off the gas and let Beechwood right back in it. I believe Beechwood cut it to 3 with about a minute to go. Credit HC with hitting their free throws down the stretch and pulling out the win. As mentioned earlier this sets up a three way tie between HC, Beechwood and Holmes. Does anyone know when the draw will be?

Largest lead of the game was 44-21 HC with 3:01 left in the 3rd Quarter.

The Tigers cut it to 3 two times in the 4th..the last at 54-51 with about 30 seconds to go.

Both teams are certainly happy with the draw and a win in the rematch will get them to the regional.

What was each team doing right/wrong that led to HC leading 44-21?

Tough draw for Holmes.

Yeah but it was gonna be a tough draw for any of the three because CovCath would smash any of them.

I felt like we couldn't have played any worse than we did those 1st 3 quarters and some of that I do accredit to Holy Cross' D, but some of it was also every team has an off night and ours happened to be for a very important game for district seeding.

If I'm not mistaken, that was our worst FG shooting effort of the year.

That's how it goes. I am sure both teams will be ready for each other's best effort come 2/23/17.

As I mentioned in the update thread and anyone who understands basketball will agree with, much better off when scoring is spread out. Also first half almost all of HC's points came from close to the basket, Something that normally doesn't happen.

Take notice coach, your team is way better off when they drive the basket and quit jacking up the three ball all the time! Second half HC started playing like they normally do, along with letting up, almost cost them the game.

This should have been a 20 point victory for HC after the first half. Beechwood played better, HC went back to their normal ways. Hopefully the cross can win again to make the regionals. Good luck boys
