Honest question...SK starting to show a little kink in the armor? Mid season blahs? Just didn't think this would be that close. Is this a closer than a 10 point win or a larger than a 10 point win. 10 points can be tricky to judge without seeing the game.

Agreed. I thought the margin was going to be wider as well. I wasn't there either; just going off seeing both these teams play this season.

SK was up 42 to 28 at one point.

Campbell was down 5 (54-49) with 3 min to go.

Jones was out of the starting line up again. The rotation and subbing seemed to be off tonight. Shooting seemed cold tonight except for Meier underneath. 3 point shots were probably less than 50 percent. Just not falling. Stamper out of game early with an injury. Harmeyer possibly injured. Did not play hardly any of 2nd half, could not get going and tearing up at times on bench. Jones didn't see a lot of action 2nd half as well.

CC is very well coached and have 2 of the better girls in NKY in Clos and Schwarber. They play hard and smart. Impressed tonight with Schwarbers shot. She's really improved it. Clos had 2 girls in her grille all night (Jones/Gilliam). She still had 20. Alot of them came in the 4th. I thought SK actually played well. They are definitely better in an up and down style. When they can turn the heat up and create turnovers they can put points on the board in a hurry. Harney had a good night 4-8 from 3. Meier was a huge mismatch for CC and it showed with 25pts. I thought Jones played alot actually, first and second half. She was all over Clos. Like you said she didn't start but last game i saw she wasn't starting then either. And of course Niece got her usual 18 and 6. She's one of the stronger guards i've watched. She'll do good things at NKU. Buckner seems to be getting closer to being back to her old self. Good to see. They'll need her length.

Not sure about kink in the armor but it seems like they have a little bit of an identity crisis for it to be late in the season. Who are the players who are going to play and who is coaching team? Substitutions were literally like a revolving door and way too many people coaching. Still time to get things worked out but now is the time.

 

Campbell County played really well. Like someone said, they are really well coached. I don't believe their record matches the quality of the team. They had a few really bad turnovers; like ball into the bench and stand kind of turnovers. They take those away and they are in the game.

 

Best I've seen SK get the ball into Meyer. She clearly had advantage and SK used it. Beyond getting the ball into her, they did take some bad outside shots but they seemed to score when they needed to.

 

Fan of both schools and wish them both luck the rest of the way.

SK plays crappy on Mondays. KCSD does not allow Sunday practice, even with a game on Monday. To make matters worse, no gyms were available on Saturday because of Archery/Wrestling. Kids get flat quick, especially when they don't take care of their bodies.

The Lady Camels have played a very tough schedule and they have competed very well against every team that they have played against. This schedule that Coach Menefee has setup for these girls will have them ready come tourney time.

I'm not sure why people would say that they are surprised by this margin. This Lady Camels team can play and they make every team bring their A game every time they step on the court. You could say Simon Kenton had a bad night and it wasn't the right night of the week for them to play or whatever other reason you have but at the end of the day you can say the same about the Lady Camels. Simon Kenton is very good as they have a lot of weapons and to say they had a bad night because it was a Monday. Call it what you want they had to play their tails off last night to get the win at home against a very tough Campbell County team.
