Holding out hope that he might get the DC job and left mad when he didn't get it?

On the coaching side is this a huge loss? I mean the DL has been a weakness for the last couple of years.

It's been a weakness due to injury/transfers mostly. I think he did a good job filling in holes with guys that weren't ready to compete at the level of the SEC. Bringing in some key guys with this next class. Hope they stick around now that they have signed.

Elam is a lot to do with that.

Great guy with a great family. Can't blame him for taking a promotion.

UK will miss his JUCO recruiting and he has done a really good job developing talent. Elam has been a bust but guys like Melvin Lewis, CJ Johnson, Adrian Middleton, Naquez Pringle, and Courtney Miggins all improved a lot under Coach Brumbaugh (all juco guys besides Middleton incidentally).

 

UK should be able to find a coach who can recruit better than Brumbaugh but they need to make sure they hire a developer first and foremost IMO. They have a great crop of freshman on the way in.

They will be just fine.

Coaches in college might as well be gypsies..."have playbook, will travel"...
