February 5, 20179 yr While you're pondering this one, what well know singer/song writer who's real name was Robert Allen Zimmerman briefly went by Elston Gunn? Bob Dylan...didn't know the Elston Gunn part but recognized the Zimmerman name
February 5, 20179 yr Author Bob Dylan...didn't know the Elston Gunn part but recognized the Zimmerman name Correct. I didn't know the Elston Gunn part either.
February 5, 20179 yr Correct. I didn't know the Elston Gunn part either. Still resisting the urge to look up the White Album
February 5, 20179 yr I will throw out one more for you guys to chew on. Who is the only artist in history to have two hit songs covered by two separate artists and reach the Top of the Billboard charts in consecutive weeks? Hint: The consecutive weeks occurred in 1987. I need to know the name of the original artist, the two artists who recorded the covers, and the title of those two hit songs. Tommy James and the Shondells It think were alone now- Tiffany Mony Mony- Billy Idol Seems as if I remember Kasey mentioning this back in the day. I can't believe it took this long for Mony Mony to hit #1, it was a huge hit at the "Downtown Establishments" in Richmond when I was in college a few years prior to this...of course we sang the alternate lyrics at the top of our lungs Great Question BTW!
February 5, 20179 yr Speaking of 1987 covers, which Cover Song was the biggest Cover hit of that year? Hint: Tied Historically to this week.
February 5, 20179 yr Author Still resisting the urge to look up the White Album It's a really tough question.
February 5, 20179 yr While I'm waiting on the answer to this one, here's another: What album was so popular that enough copies have been sold that 1 in 12 people in the ENTIRE WORLD own the record? FWIW the math doesn't come close to supporting the 1 in 12 claim.

Thank you, sir. Outstanding. You are really good at this as well. As for me, just way too much useless information in my head. BTW, I was a big Tommy James & the Shondells fan. Not so much for Tiffany or Billy Idol.

Not so much for Tiffany or Billy Idol. I'm not as good as many on here...but I know what "I know", if you know what I mean. :lol2: I was a fan of both of those songs before the covers came out, the "Mony Mony" cover was a staple at O'Reilly's back in the day!
February 6, 20179 yr I'm not as good as many on here...but I know what "I know", if you know what I mean. :lol2: I think I may have the one you asked earlier. MAYBE. If I have it, your hint was very helpful. " LA BAMBA ." We just talked about the anniversary of "The Day the Music Died."
February 6, 20179 yr This artist has a dozen or so top ten hits but never a #1. This artist, however, wrote a song that topped the charts for someone else back in the latter part of the seventies. Who is he?
