Greenup County 36 South Point (OH) 12

Featured Replies

Congrats GC!

Did the players that left the game get injured or ejected? What are the details?

Congratulations

Did the coaches quit during the game cause that would be really immature and showing a lack of respect or did it happen sometime throughout the week which still seems odd?

I believe so, during the game. Though im not positive.

Can anyone verify.

I can see Greenup finishing second in the district.

If you want to count Ashland out fine....Mason County would fill that void IMO:argue:

BUT the Champion will not be crowned until the 2nd round of the playoffs....JUST like Basketball.

Can I throw-up now???

Four starters for South point went out in the first half. they also had a few coaches quit. Still a good win though.

Don't know about the coaches, but I do know that South Point lost both running backs and the QB during this game:creepy:

Anything can happen on any night but do you honestly believe Greenup could get past Mason, Ashland, Boyd, Lawrence or JC "depending on who you think will be #1". Thats definatly a stretch IMO.

Nothing against Greenup.

Great win for Greenup. Its always nice to see fellow District teasm do well. I think this program is on its way back into the thick of things. Maybe not this year but soon. Looking forward to the Musketeers coming to Putnam Stadium in two weeks.

Ready for District play,

Yoter

This game at JC scares me to death and it has all season. An improved GC team with a couple of tough losses and good wins. This game will be played when we typically play the Apple Bowl, not Paintsville......It just before our fall break......and we have won decisively the last 2 years. This game scares me because we would be ripe for a "let down"!

Its not been that long ago that GC was competing for district titles.

Yes but that was then and this is now. J.C. will be way too much for Greenup this year.

Congrats GC!

No players or coaches were ejected in the game. There was a single unsportsmanlike conduct call on the South Point bench, but that was it. South Point started and finished the game with 4 coaches.

South Point QB was limping, but ran the ball the last play from scrimmage, so he wasn't out either. He was a rough guy to bring down and VERY good arm strength. He is a verbal commitment to Marshall.

I honestly feel that Greenup Co can get past Boyd Co, Lawrence Co and Mason Co. If you take the attitude into the game against them that they can't compete then they might just get past Ashland too.

Ashland and Johnson Central should have no problem with the Musketeers if they come to play. But Greenup Co does have a very realistic shot at the #3 spot in that district.

I hope you're correct Grasshopper!

Very true, but like you said Ashland and JC should have no problem if they come to play.

I've seen that QB playing last season and he was pretty dang good then. I'd heard he's wanting Marshall for sure too and it will be good for him and close to home.
