Forbes Welcome At the end of the day, it is clear that before we rush to place fact checking organizations like Snopes in charge of arbitrating what is “truth” on Facebook, we need to have a lot more understanding of how they function internally and much greater transparency into their work.

Snopes isn't the end all, of all. However when I read this Forbes article I got confused. It sounded like the author took off on a presentation because founder Mikkleson (Snopes Founder) wouldn't answer ALL his questions. Mikkleson stated in his response to the author: “I'd be happy to speak with you, but I can only address some aspects in general because I'm precluded by the terms of a binding settlement agreement from discussing details of my divorce.” So because the man is prohibited by a legal contract from answering every question, he then must be hiding things? I thought that was quite a leap.

Amputation of hands, gouging out eyes, and even more extreme punishments are still sentences that are executed in such "modern" Muslim countries as Iran and Saudi Arabia. Fundamentalist Christians in this country respect the authority of the U.S. government and do not set up their own legal system and impose cruel and unusual punishments on fellow citizens. You can point to nutcases like Timothy McVeigh (who did not commit his crime for religious reasons) and try to draw parallels, but McVeigh was arrested, tried, sentenced to death, and executed by lethal injection by a jury of his peers, in accordance with American laws and the U.S. Constitution. Sharia Law will never make it in America. If anyone wants Sharia law then they need to move where that is currently in place. If Trump comes out and says its a bad thing, some( not all) on here would support it 100%.
