You are 100% correct statmaster. I have been thinking the same thing and scratching my head!! John Scott Carver ran the ball great all year he had 0 carries tonight. Maybe there was a reason but it would have been nice to have his presence. I think that we have placed so much emphasis on the defense that the offense is not gettng the reps and their timing may be off. There were some balls that should have been caught but I agree on the route running. We just flat out got whipped by a better football team tonight.

I was only listening on the radio tonight but I have to agree with you and statmaster on we should have been running the ball much more. Carver gets 0 carries and Denton seemed to be getting tough yards all night when he ran. The passing game was not there at all and we were gaining on the ground. Oh well, I am sure that there was a reason and the coaches know their kids a lot better than I. I just hate to see one slip away but the better team (on this particular night) won.

Some of us don't place that much importance on running home just to see what's on BGP's. We just took the loss in stride, went out for a bite to eat and home and to bed. Then check it out in the A.M.
But also remember TGf that some of us (as in this one:D ) cannot make it to the game bc of health reasons and enjoy getting on the pc and catching up.:thumb:

It must have to late for the other Ram fans. Remember I respect you and Oldrambler for coming on here and giving your dues to LCA. It nice to see people, win or lose stick by their team and give other team props. You will have to get on your fellow "fans".

Believe me bball I am burning inside, I hate to lose. Imo you (I) have to give credit where it is due, I still believe that Raceland is the better team but we just flat out got beat by a team that was well prepared played better last night.

I support the players and coaches. Congrats to LCA. Continued success to both teams.

Go Ramblers!!!

That was not directed at you oldrambler. I know you support the rams 110%. And although I haven't figured out exactly who you are I believe we graduated together.

I had misread the original post and took offense to it when none should have been. My apologies.

I'm just merely stating that there is allot more posters after the wins then the loses. Just an observation. Respect to oldrambler and cvillecat.

Now as for the game. Congrats to LCA's players and coaches for a hard fought win. What happened was what I was afraid would happen. The Rams faced a similiar type offense were outplayed by it. The pass defense by the Rams was also lacking. Racelands run defense was pretty good at stopping the run. The rams need to run the ball more using the different talents they in the backfield. We just need to regroup and come out strong.

I agree with you TGF, the Raceland defense did a good job against the run. :thumb: LCA had a big, strong, quick back and was able to keep him in check. By observing high school football game for years, it seems that pass defense is usually a flaw in everybodies defense not just Racelands. I think that is why allot of teams have went to th pass.

:thumb: No apology necessary TGf, I was also a little quick to jump on it. I know that you are 110% behind the Rams and always have been. I sent you a pm on the graduating together.:thumb: My post was mostly in frustration with our loss last night (I hat to lose:mad: ) and frustrations that I couldn't be there. No hard feelings, we are all old ramblers and once a Ram always a Ram.;)

:thumb: I completely agree that we need to run the ball MUCH more than we do - the running game, defense and special teams play will win a lot of games for anyone. Always has and always will.

Congrats to LCA! And apologies for doubting you! It sounds like Lucas Witt came into his own last night.

Heartbreaker of a loss for the kids of Raceland, but a good lesson. Hope the coaches can learn from it. Several opportunities squandered, but good play and execution from the LCA squad, especially good job on defense, and by the young QB. Congrats to LCA and heres to a quick recovery for the Rams!

A very deserving congratulations to LCA and QB Whitt. Very impressed by this qb. Only a freshmen and only 135 lbs. Wow. He sure showed maturity on the field, running the offense and keeping control of the game. I love my Rams and we'll bounce back to meet LCA in the playoffs.

EagleEye, I looked for you and Cville before the game; couldn't find either of you. Sorry I missed meeting you.

Wasn't at the game, but heard from some very reliable sources that often times they thought Raceland was out-manuevered so to speak. Some questions on the officiating as always. Seems after reading the thread that LCA had more of a beef about the officials though. Congratulations to LCA and sometimes an early season loss is just what the doctor ordered for a rebound to a special season (Ask Ashland). Good Luck to both teams.

Spindoc - read Posts 29 thru 41 to get the STATS on the REF's...it is "water under the bridge now", but really - the KHSAA should review the game films sometimes and evaluate the refs occasionally...

That's what I was referring to, it sounds as though LCA got the worst end of it. And I agree about review, the problem is the quality of film would doubtfully do justice on alot of occasions.
