So I'm understanding this correctly,the only way Highlands can be considered good again is only if they blow every team out by 40+? It feels so weird defending them as I envy that school (due to football) but I've got tons of respect for what they've done.

The landscape in NKY has changed somewhat. The rest of us have become more competitive. Will HHS ever have a run like before? Probably not. Will they ever be competitive again? Absolutely. I'll give them this they are scheduling up and taking their lumps. Some others don't schedule quite so competitively. CCH, Ryle, and HHS try to beef their schedule up. They shouldn't be knocked for that. The 6a's should be a guantlet for them. They will lose most and win some. Woe is us 6a's for being so weak for so long. Football is getting better and better in KY and the higher you play up the tougher it gets. I believe HHS is top of the 4a enrollment playing 5a correct? They will be better. May be a tough year again with that schedule but they have the will to compete so they will get back on track. I just don't believe they will see success at those record breaking years as often as before.

What makes you think they won't be back to competing for championships? If they don't dominate(40+ point wins) like they did in the past but still win championships are you still going to call it a downfall?

 

I'd call it a regression, but who's to say that they'll even be winning state championships consistently again, or even at all?
