January 20, 20179 yr The much maligned former GM of the Philadelphia 76ers is finally starting to see the fruits of his labor. Hinkie knows the worst place to be is in NBA purgatory hovering around the .500 mark with no superstar on the roster, nor in a position in the draft to nab one. The 76ers under Hinkie were known to tank seasons to help secure top draft picks. In case anyone hasn't noticed, Embiid has the goods. Ben Simmons has the goods (we think). With that they have some solid young (trade-bait) talent. In the pathetic East, they can rise to a top 4 seed in the not-so-distant future. So, will Hinkie be applauded for his efforts at some point?
January 20, 20179 yr I hate that tanking is a strategy but if it works, then yes you deserve the praise. Worked great for the Cubs, but I'll be interested to see if it truly works for a team in a league with a salary cap.
January 21, 20179 yr Author The bugatti hex is back. Embiid just limped to the locker room with an apparent leg injury.

January 21, 20179 yr When you get top picks for 7 straight years you are bound to hit on one of them. I don't think history will remember him fondly.
January 23, 20179 yr I think know they will have 2 top 10 picks this year. They need some perimeter scorers and they will be legit real soon. I saw one mock draft where they got Ball and Monk.
January 23, 20179 yr They get the Lakers pick if it is outside the Top 3. They also have the right to swap picks with Sacramento if Kings pick is higher.
