Worst Officials in College Basketball

Featured Replies

I'm so confused by this angle you're taking. Shouldn't the fault be on the players (and to a lesser degree, the coaches) for not adjusting? If they continue to call putting hands on an offensive player with a live dribble, quit doing it.

My complaint is it's not even remotely consistent. It changes from one game to the next, and is called drastically different the first 30-35 minutes of a game compared to the last 5.

I didn't take any angle. I just posted the facts.

Jim Burr?

I think Breeding is really good. Teddy is really good too. Mike Roberts is probably the best official in the country, in my humblest of opinions.

The two that I think are the worst are DJ Carstenen and Bo Borowski. Not a big fan of Hampton either.

Which Hampton, John or Brent?

My short list:

Jamie Luckie

Ron Groover

Mike Eads

Rick Hartzell

Anthony Jordan

...that's cute, if only..... :idunno:

For most of you, I'm sure your next officiating gig will be your first so is this basically a whining session because the calls didn't go your team's way?

Ah yes, the always fun "if you haven't done it, don't complain about it" line. Was wondering when that was going to make an appearance in this thread.

That's part of my schtick!

I think they have been bad BOTH ways in most of the games I've watched.

You're being obtuse. You posted two posts in this thread with the number of fouls being called, inferring, that is too many whistles. That is the "angle." Again, the responsibility to play without fouling and to adjust is on the players.

It's hard to adjust when what is a foul and what's not changes from game to game and from one minute to the the next in game, wouldn't you agree?

Here is where the "you can't please everyone" point comes in. Sports fans far and wide complain that they don't want games decided by the ref, but you're saying call the last 5 minutes the same way you called the first 35. Which is it? The majority of the calls that I see that get fans out of their minds in arenas are the hands on a ball handler, which IS a foul, or the block / charge...which, either way, is a foul. Counting the number of fouls (I know that you didn't post that) is way more on the players and coaches in my eyes, than the referees.

Players and coaches can't adjust to inconsistency.

I would agree, but, I don't think that is happening to the extent that you do.
