That'll get the boys fired up!

I can't understand why they don't use this cheer anymore.........

Mr. Kaiser passed on and didn't leave the sheet music.

I heard this a while ago but wasn't Highlands once called the Blue Wave before the Blue Devils?

Old style fight songs are coming back in style (i.e. CCH going back to the song instead of the newer style yell).

Interesting facts about Highlands, good thread.

They may have been called ''The Blue Tide,'' briefly. But that would have been between "Blue Devils" and "Bluebirds."
Hmm, very interesting.

Kind of along the same lines as Villa Madonna. Called the Vipers, but had to change, since the snake was supposed to be the sign of the devil.

The Blue Lightning is at least Villa's third nickname. They had to change from Vixens when they went co-ed.

Anybody know of any other local schools that changed nicknames?

Nice post Birdman :thumb:

I've always known that one as "All Hail Highlands Team" incorporating the words "And March That Ball Right Down That Field."

In a book that I am writing about the life of Coach Ken Shields, I entitle the chapter where he goes to Highlands with the "And March That Ball ......" title.

I've alwasy associated that song with the district and regional basketball tournaments.

Which colleges use that fight song other than Cal-Berkeley???

You're close to the words; but not exact. Here's the words:

Oh hail Highlands team

Oh hail Highlands team

Their blue and white

Their full of fight

Their not affraid to hit that line

Oh hail Highlands team

Oh hail Highlands team

They'll go up and down that field and

Fight fight fight til the end

H-I-G-H-L-A-N-D-S

H-I-G-H-L-A-N-D-S

Oh hail Highlands team

Oh hail Highlands team

They'll go up and down that field and

Fight Fight Fight till the end.

I searched a bunch of college fight songs and that was the only time I found it.
