If I have to explain what the LIVE tracking sites are the fact that they are ran by internet security developers and such and why they exist then you probably aren't interested enough in the information to care. You want it to be a me against your ideology when it is simply a real time tracker of certain types of internet packets being defended against. Period. They can be tracked to and from destinations so if you want to use it or another, @Bluegrasscard has provided some, you can see for yourself who the world's leading hackers are..... I think these maps are accurate. Internet tracking is not hard The basics are...basic.

 

You will see DDOS attacks and other zombized attacks come out of hosting providers web farms at times. Most of the web servers in the US are hosted on Azure (microsoft), Amazon Web Services (AWS) and IBM (Softlayer/Bluemix). Hence why you see originating attacks out of Redmond - a major Azure hosting location.

Akamai is interesting as they are an 'edge provider'. They host content and put it close to the 'edge' of the internet so that end consumers do not have to bounce through 20 or more routers to get the content. So they 'see' a lot of the attacks as part of their normal function. But its hard to attack Akamai sites since the target is also distributed.

 

The things being reported here are mostly 'denial-of-service' attacks. Its done usually by taking control of other servers/websites (zombies) and getting them 'attack' a target. When done with enough 'zombies' access to certain sites is not possible due to the overload. The providers monitor for this and will notify victims of or suspected originators, but rately can just shut down a suspected zombie. Usually the customer of the suspect zombie has to take action even when the server/website is in a provider hosting center.

 

This activity is constant. Its wild and getting worse.

 

 

They are not 'hacking' attacks in the manner of someone trying to penetrate and steal or alter information.

Never said that. You didn't want to take the time to find out but took the time to debate it's merit.
