St. Paul edges the Wood 14-13. The Tigers came back from 8 down to tie it at 12 and it came down to the last 30 seconds and the Tigers could not get a shot off. It was an exciting game with really good crowd support.

I watched a 4th grade basketball game today before my sons game and it was painful to watch.

I was asked to come out of the stands and help coach my daughters 4th grade game today. The Ft Thomas Fiesties jumped out to a 10-8 halftime lead over a team that beat them 22-4 in the 1st game of the year. It was a tale of 2 halves though as the rim was very unkind to the Fiesties and they couldn't muster a bucket in the 2nd Half losing 14-10. Still proud of their effort and saw significant improvement. Need to run more ball screens next week to get some space. Asking girls to run a motion offense is painful.

White's tower 4th grade girls are pretty darn good.

I am a 2nd grade basketball slacker. St. Paul continues to lead the pack at 6-0. The 14-13 BW game was as close as they have come to losing. Blessed Sacrament sits at 5-1. The Wood has not lost since the St. Paul game and is now even at 3-3 on the year. BW plays the other St. Paul team tomorrow night which is 3-2 so far. The Lady Crusader tourney at St. Henry also kicks off this week for some of the teams.

Not meant to be. The Little Lady Tigers jumped out to an 8-0 lead and could only muster 3 points the rest of the way and fell 13-11. The lid was on the basket as it seemed nothing was falling. 3 put-backs in the last 10 seconds all fell off the rim. The the Wood's top scorer over the last 4 games who was averaging just under 10 points a game was held off the scoreboard. Another exciting finish to a 2nd grade game which can be very entertaining. The beauty part is that the girls could care less if they won or lost. Immediately after they were making dinner and sleepover plans.

The Wood rebounded nicely tonight from their heartbreaking loss last week by taking down St. Henry tonight, 15-4. Record back at .500 at 4-4.
