Just a possible scenario that could play out...you could easily have a Conf Champ with 3 maybe even 4 losses, no way they deserve to go in over a 1 loss team that lost in conf title game or that one game in the case of a Mich/OSU game was their only loss on the season. Go to 8 teams that's fine, but pick the BEST 8, no auto qualifiers is all I am saying.

And yet right in that first season in 2014, we never really knew how good either of those Big XII teams were. TCU thumped their opponent in the Peach Bowl and Baylor and Sparty played an all time classic in theirs.

I don't think it worked either year honestly unless you count the best team winning working. But I think the 4 best teams in '14 were OSU, Bama, TCU, and Baylor. In '15 it was Bama, Clemson, OSU, and Stanford. If you have 8 teams you have a chance for this to play out on the field.

Because it's unnecessary. 4 is plenty. There is no need to fix something that isn't broken. The season is already way longer than it needs to be, they don't need to add another week of games.

I'm not really a good one to ask though. College football season ends for me the second college basketball starts. IMO, it's far and away the least exciting "major" sport we have. With NFL in full swing and college ball starting, I'll be lucky to watch another college football game all year.
