When was it the last greatest country in the world in your estimation?

 

In my perspective as an adult, we have been getting our butts kicked since I became aware and cared. As a kid none of this enters your mind really. So I can't say when because we have never achieved where we should be. It's not in our people. It's on our failed bureaucrats. Don't get me wrong I love what we stand for, shouldn't we be doing it rather than just saying it.

I watched it and you better warn some of the language, did not offend me but may some. Canned conservative video, come on find me something unbiased. You know that won't convince me any more than me showing you a Michael Moore video would convince you.

 

Come on what do you think will make us great. 20 million people losing health care? That should improve our life expectancy rating. How about post secondary educate that is not affordable for the majority of families and end up with most in massive debt before they even start their career.? Capping that at 12.5% should do the trick there.

 

I get you and many may not like AHCA, great, come up with something affordable with choice that all can afford. Those 20 million are about to get a real big shock, unfortunately many of those are our Eastern Kentucky brethren.

 

Come on, don't show me some canned video. Talk to me, work through things, compromise. We will never be your great, when I figure out what it is, if it is always my way or the highway which is where we have been for too long on both sides of the aisle.

Interesting. Hillary didn't lose because she is a woman. We ALL know why. Trump is my least loveable personality just ahead of hers. If we are voting on personality we are worse off than I thought. If we are voting because of skin, gender or any other reason other than issues and policy we are worse off than I thought. Trump may have the balls to say no to politics as usual and give this big machine a shot in the arm and get it working again. As for the video he makes some good points.

The waste is unfathomable and the amount we give around the globe is insane. We neglect our own to buy influence around the world and it has to stop. I love ahca, problem is it isn't affordable. It needs to be fixed. I love the idea of everyone getting covered. They just need to prioritize our money. We can drop food around the world and feed anyone, but if you need food stamps here it's a bad thing? A good idea is a good idea no matter which side of the isle it comes from. Unfortunately the ones from the left are not very well thought out lately. I supported the candidate who said America first, not the one who enriched herself with no conscious from people who hate us.

I also don't think we have a revenue problem. Here is one of the many problems at the very basic level. I don't have a revenue problem in my personal life, but making a decision with my wife how to spend it, save it, invest it, whatever dose cause disagreement. But because we can talk through it and compromise, it works out.

 

Unfortunately, when we disagree on where money should be spent in government budgets we label it liberal spending or conservative spending. We cherry pick one person or one group or one company and how they abused the money and then want to throw away a helpful program. There are good things in the ACHA and some bad things, why can't we work from there, instead of kicking 20M out of affordability.

 

One story of many on what is wrong, I have a relative who is a Department of Defense internal auditor. I don't really understand all he does. but he basically ensures you are spending the $$ on what you say you are (simple explanation, I am sure it is more involved). He told me that we have a company that makes billion dollar tanks and we have a huge surplus of them in the thousands. However, because we have a contract and a very influential congressman (doesn't matter which party) has ensured through budget legislation that we keep making them because he doesn't want to lose the jobs which would cause him an election more than likely. I believe most on here can agree that is wrong and it is this way in both parties ion bunches of things. Now if DJT stops this stuff, I will be happy.

 

So it isn't only giving food stamps to lazy people or building schools in Afghanistan that is the main problem, that is what some politicians want you to believe. When really that is the problem. You know it, I know it, but we keep electing them. So DJT is fresh meat, let's see if he can do that. I didn't here him talk about those things nor any of them.

I can't agree more. I pray we have the courage to fix it this time around withought the partisan crap the children in washington put Americans through.

I strongly disagree. All that is needed for the U.S. economy to boom is a level playing field. Compared to workers in most countries, U.S. workers are extremely productive and are willing to work longer hours than their counterparts. Government has already done its part to wreck our economy.

 

The last thing we need is a protectionist government that tries to force companies to operate in this country. The government just needs to get out of the way and allow companies and individuals to compete. We also need to scrap our immigration policies and begin accepting the best and brightest immigrants to our shores. Importing human sponges based on their voting preferences and poorly educated people offering little except cheap labor must end.
