I guess the downside to blowing out opponents early in the year is that people have the unrealistic expectation that you should do that every game, and if you don't something is wrong.

Absolutely, and that's why they're right there at the top, and will be there right until the very end assuming they keep on winning. I'm simply stating that not only is Washington undefeated, they've looked more impressive the last few weeks. I think both those factors land them @#4.

No I think Louisville is better than Washington, but Washington has looked WAY more consistent than Clemson. UofL is a better team than both of them, but on a neutral field I would pick Washington over Clemson.
October 31, 20169 yr I agree that the first committee rankings will generally follow the AP. Also want to add that Louisville continues to be a great team for the experts to talk about. They are dynamic and new to the scene, they have Lamar, and they continue to win. They can discuss Louisville’s performance against their schedule… etc. Lots to analyze and ripe for predictions.
October 31, 20169 yr He isn't any good... He was the OC when they won he title. Then they sucked when he left. He comes back they go back to the title game and lose in the last minute. Now this year they are back to or almost to a top 10 team. Is he one of the elite coaches, no. Is he just not very good as you say, no. He is better than most coaches out there though. He is a good Coach, no more no less.
October 31, 20169 yr From UofL's standpoint, good news is Big12 (WVU & Baylor) is out of Final 4 discussion. Assuming Big10 & SEC champs get a spot even if they have 1 loss, 2 of 4 spots are gone. I think Clemson w/ 1 loss (whether before or in ACC Champ) gets in before UofL so looks VERY likely that 3 of 4 spots are taken. Washington gets the final spot if they are undefeated. Best case scenario is the 4th spot goes to a 1 loss team. Resumes & my personal rankings: 1 - Bama (any 1 loss scenario where they are not SEC Champ - don't get in OR lose to Florida in SEC Champ) 1a - Michigan (if only loss is @ OSU and OSU wins Big10 OR if they beat OSU & lose Big10 Champ) 1b - Texas A&M (if only loss is @ Bama & Bama wins SEC) 4 - UofL 5 - Washington 6 - Baylor / WVU winner 7 - Boise St. 8 - Western Michigan - undefeated OR 1 loss, they ain't gettin' in NOTE: Nebraska or Florida could end with 1 loss, but would have to win Big10 / SEC Champ to do so.
October 31, 20169 yr Top 4 are Bama, Michigan, Clemson and Washington. OSU gets in with a win over Michigan if they win out. Clemson loss and I think U of L gets in, even if they don't win their conference. Washington may/may not finish the year undefeated. Seems like Petersen's teams always get snake bit by someone.
