Estill County: Congratulations

Featured Replies

Last weekend, Estill County clinched their first football district championship in school history (they did split a title a couple years ago, but lost the tiebreaker). We haven't talked much about Estill on BGP this year, but the Engineers are 6-2 and look capable of perhaps making a run to the regional final.

Offensively, they are doing what they always do - run the football. Estill has ran for 2,597 yards as a team while only passing for 55 yards on the season! Dawson Bingham is their leading rusher with 1,088 yards and 14 scores.

Congratulations to the Engineers! :thumb:

Hopefully, Corbin beats Casey this weekend, Estill probably could have a good game with Casey in the second round and it would be @ Estill much more than it would be if they were playing Corbin. I don't think it really matters now who wins Friday's game between Estill and Knott as Estill has 0 losses and Knott has 2. Estill should probably finish the season 9-3 or 10-3 UNLESS they pull off a major upset and upset both Casey and Corbin...

Gotta give props to Coach Jones, he's the only coach that has gotten Estill a district title. He's put together a good staff to help him.

Congratulations to Estill County. :ylsuper:

If you had asked me I would have bet Estill won a district championship back when Neace was the QB. They had some really good teams then and again in 07 or 08 they won a lot of games. I guess having Breathitt in your district kept that from happening.

I am happy to see Estill having success! I am glad they are back doing what they do best.
