Some big Top 10 matchups this week in Class 5A, could we see some surprises? #1 Bowling Green takes on #3 Greenwood, can Greenwood upset the Purples? Intercounty rivals may have something to settle as #6 Pulaski County goes over to #7 Southwestern, which team will be ranked better next week? #2 Covington Catholic takes on #10 Dixie Heights for the District title, who will be number two in that district (we already know who number 3 is)? What changes could we see in Class 5A next week?

Thanks to cross-bracketing. The remaining top 5 team, along with the #8 & #10 teams are in Region 2. 7 of the top 10 coming out of the "West" side of the bracket.

Madison Southern should be over South Oldham. SO's strength of schedule is ridiculous, their best win is Boone County?

True about South Oldham's SOS, but Madison Southern's SOS is not significantly better.

Not significantly, but it is better. SO is ranked higher now b/c they are 8-0. I suspect if they had played Pulaski and Tates Creek they (like Madison South) they would have the same two losses and be ranked behind the Eagles.

Just to be clear, we are splitting hairs here and I'm just trying to generate discussion. The rankings look to be spot on.

Not sure how SO would do against the same schedule as MS. Those are always hard to project. Can't say they would lose to PC or TC either -- may beat them and I believe the players believe they can. Playoffs will be fun to see how this plays out. Will be watching the score as MS takes on Anderson this weekend to see who gets the number one seed!

Whitley Co is somewhat worthy of a top 10 spot.

While they would be in the conversation and are certainly a top 15 team, there are a few teams in front of them to get to top 10 status, IMO. Last weeks close game against a 2-6 Harlan County team didn't do them any favors in working their way up the ladder.

True. But they have losses to Pulaski Co, Belfry, Johnson Central, Knox Central and North Laurel and now Whitley. Those are some powerhouses and solid top ranked teams there.
