Joel Grosser played fantastic (again) against Highlands. NCC could prove a tough out for a 1 seed next week

Assuming that CCH, Ryle, Highlands and St. Henry are the #1 seeds, I would say that NCC is probably the toughest out of the #2 seeds that remain. With that said, I'd be surprised if the regional semi-finals are not the four teams named above.

I would tend to agree, but surprises happen... last year in the first round #1 seed NCC loses to #2 seed Dixie 3-2; #1 seed St Henry loses to #2 seed Cooper 4-2; and #1 seed CCH goes to PKs with #2 seed HHS.

Don't assume to many things, we know what happens............Highlands, St henry and CCH are all gifted 1 seeds in the regional with the soft districts, but don't be surprised to see Cooper as the one seed, especially since that district is playing on the tiny basketball sized soccer field. That will really throw the region for a loop, as who will want to face two seeded Ryle.

I won't argue the fact that those districts are pretty soft but Ryle, Cooper, Conner and Boone ain't exactly a murderer's row either. And of course, Cooper could upset Ryle in the final, especially on that field. Where is the regional being held this year? I believe Ryle is up on the rotation but I'm not sure.

Im not sure District #36 with HHS (KY-13) and NCC (KY-48) is what I'd call soft. NCC put up a good fight Tuesday night and it was a well contested game.

District #33 with Ryle (KY-10) and Cooper (KY-33) I'm sure will be contested as well. I wouldn't be shocked if Cooper took the #1 seed, though I'd still see Ryle as favored.

If CCH (KY-9) and St Henry (KY-22) are "gifted" #1 seeds by virtue of playing Beechwood (KY-110) and Dixie (KY-101) in their District finals, the downside is that they can't draw their own District #2 seed in first round of Regionals, leaving each with a 2 out of 3 chance that they draw either NCC or the Ryle/Cooper loser.

Ultimately there really are no gifts given. You have to win 3 games to get out of Regionals and at least 2 if not all 3 of those games are likely to be well contested.

This should probably be in a separate thread but while you are on the Regional mach discussion when/where are the 9th regional games being played? I don't recall seeing that in any thread. Just looking for dates/times and location. Still not used to how Ky does their tournament versus Ohio where the whole Sectional is seeded with dates/times set pretty much from beginning to end.

I've heard the District winners host the first round of Regionals on Tuesday, 10/18.

Semi finals on Thursday, 10/20 and finals Saturday 10/22.

The big question is where? If CCH and Cooper win today they would need to secure a field to host, neither CCH (no permanent lights) or Cooper (to small) can host on their fields.

I could be wrong but I think its a Boone Co school's turn to host semi finals and finals, which would mean these 3 games will be played at Ryle.

I think Region 9 is at Ryle for semis and finals. First round at higher seed. Not sure about dates or about fields for 1st round.

CovCath has had temporary lights in use all season so hosting would not be an issue.

I wasn't aware the 8 teams in the 9th Region tournament (or any of the 16 regional tournaments) are actually seeded, this is news to me. So they are seeded 1-8 and 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7 and so on? I was told simply the District winners host first round, no matter what their "seed" may be.
