Bluegrasspreps' Class 6A Rankings - Discussion (9/26)

Ryle should be third.

Just can't see a number three ranking with the close game they had against an average Henry Clay team.

Serious question: Do you think Ryle would beat St. Xavier?

Going by what I saw from both teams, yes. I think it would be a barn burner but as I said, I think Morgan is the difference maker.

No argument, I can only base my opinion on what I saw in the games. Let's face it, most of the teams are going to have games where you can only say, "what the heck was that?"

Eye test. I saw three of the four teams ahead of them and from what I saw on the field Ryle is better. Morgan is a difference maker.

The problem with the "eye test" is that it only uses your eyes. In order to rank a team, especially one you haven't seen play, you have to look at all the factors (wins, margin, strength of schedule, etc.). I think Ryle is a very good team, but as another poster said, outside of the win over Covington Catholic, they don't have a ton to hang their hat on.

Obviously there are a lot of factors. I was asked why my opinion was that Ryle is third. I based it on what I saw on the field from Ryle, SK, Scott and X. After the top two it's a crapshoot.

Absolutely. No problem with that.

After the struggle they just had with NCC? What are you basing this off of? Seeing them in one game against SK?

Cooper lost to Highlands.

Cooper lost to Highlands.

SK struggled with Highlands so should they be like 8 or 9???

Struggled? Was you at the game? They never struggled. They scored at will.

I agree, but am happy waiting until Conner gets the win over Cooper in a few weeks.

I think the center may be the most over looked position in the game. That being said, #75 for Conner may be one of the best in the game. Quick feet and good knowledge of of his surrounding.

Look forward to the match up. Cooper has 6'5" lineman that lines up in the center guard gap. The center and guard will have a busy night.

Should be a good night!

Neither team struggled on offense, both struggled on defense, what defense there was anyway.
