Tulsa riots/looting?

Being from out of state in Charlotte isn't a challenge. Look at the map.

We now know the source Erin Burnett from CNN used for the "70% out of state" report.

The FOP spokesperson said he didn't quote facts and it was just a guess on his part.

Differing reports. CNN reported what you heard. Charlotte Observer said they looked at the arrest records and found just the opposite i.e. 70% were local.

Amazing how 2 sources can be so far removed. And we actually believe what these folks have to say.

See the above post. Two different sources, told two different networks, two different things.

There was only one source. FOP guy.

Newspaper then looked at actual arrest records.

One guy spinning the news the way he wanted folks to hear it. The other actually looking at something. Sounds like my marketing department.

Or a lazy network reporter from out of town takes the word of an FOP leader as the authority and reports it as fact. Local reporter know who to really get the truth from and gets the accurate report.

Is it still shocking that 30% of those arrested were from out of state or the local area?

Are they opportunistic criminals, looking for a place to riot and loot. Being arrested I'm guessing they weren't peacefully protesting.

I mentioned this earlier, are you aware of the Geography here?

Charlotte, NC - MapQuest

Charlotte sits on the SC /NC border. The greater Charlotte area crosses a state border much as the greater Cincy area.

I love the whole "outside agitators" argument. Sounds like pre-Civil Rights Act Mississippi.

Yes, my understanding was that local included that area as well.

Not questioning out of area protesters, questioning out if area looters and law breakers that were arrested.

Probably not. The definition of local to the police data was probably just that. It didn't include Rock Hill and SC neighbors because the aren't within their jurisdiction.

That begs a question: How logical is it that people would be travelling around the country looking to incite riots just for the purpose of looting?

Some people are just opportunistic piles of excrement.
