Beechwood 25 Newport Central Catholic 16 (Frosh)

Sorry. I don't have details other than the final score. Perhaps others can fill in the blanks.

Thanks for posting the final Eye.

If I'm not mistaken, the final was 25-16.

NCC scored on 2 passing plays. Their first TD was essentially a jump ball in which the receiver out-jump the CB and Safety around the 5 and walked in. The next score was a catch and run of 50+ yards. The Beechwood safety took a bad angle, and once the receiver got by him, it was a foot race to the endzone.

I missed the first score, but Beechwood's last 3 were rushing TDs, if I recall correctly. 2 were by Derry and 1 by Corts. Their female kicker got her first extra point of the season.

Thank you for the details. You are right on the final score - 25 to 16. That was a typo by me. Thanks for correcting. If someone can correct the score in the title, please do so.

That was the second extra point for Audrey Pelster. She kicked her first one last week following Beechwood's final TD. Congratulations to her.

Jefferson play for NCC?

I wasn't at this game, but he does play.......he was probably the receiver who got the "jump-ball" for the TD.

It was either 28 or 29 that caught the jump ball. He timed his jump much better than the 2 Beechwood defenders as he didn't have the size advantage. He was one of the better players on the field for NCC.

Thanks. I didn't realize she played in the first game the way everyone was talking last night.

Ok for real though how did Tanner Daunt do for NCC he used to be one of Collins favorite rec in the Jr league.

He played great. Had a Sack, 50 yard TD pass. He is a really good player. Blocks well, runs well.
