NEO, I appreciate this. I have to admit that North hasn't been high on my radar probably ever, but to go 4 and 0 is 4 and 0 no matter what. I don't expect them to beat the big Louisville schools, but I think competing well with their nearby schools is important. That's how you start building a long term program. Sounds like the Bankhead kid is a special player.

I could be wrong, but I thought I saw somewhere that North Hardin will drive south to open next season and play Bowling Green at the nightcap of the Rafferty's Bowl to start the 2017 season. Have you heard of this?

Not bitter at all. Etown should have easily been up 21-0 in the first half but made mistakes that didn't allow that to happen. Fumbled on the 5 yd line, dropped pass on a 4th down conversion on the 10. Turnovers in the 2nd half and mental mistakes were killers. Most of Etown's players go both ways, maybe 2 guys switch over when offense/defense does. Even with that they held NH scoreless in the 1st half. I was under impressed with North's offense with Bankhead in. They looked 1 dimensional. When the sophomore qb came in their offense got better because they began to run the ball more. My comments on North were based off the eye test. They are a good team, not great by any means and they will lose when they begin to face stiffer competition.

 

Like I said, I commented on the defense to which you proceeded to offer excuses as to why they fumbled and didn't convert like none of it could be attributed to the defense? lol that's silly PP2020. I agree, the offense wasn't impressive, but I do know their offense isn't at 100% health. I'm sure that can account for some of the underwhelming performance on that side of the ball.

 

Also, preseason, John was touted as a title contender based on their talent. The talent is there...but talent alone doesn't create a team. I know about their program as well.

Concerning BG next year, they won't be the freight train they are this year, but still pretty darn good. They lose names you already know like RB Carothers, QB Payne, WR Wilson and DE Cofer. Although those guys can't be "replaced", there are guys who will finally get a chance to step up and that are playing now in more mop up roles. Looking forward to it!

IMO, Graduation takes the "key-est" of pieces from this years team that has a chance to put a running clock on 9 out of 10 teams they play in the regular season.

That is not likely to happen next year, but I love some of the young guys and how they choose to use Kenner and Tisdale is yet to be seen. Would be a good game against North though and I'm looking forward to it (but LOT of water to flow before we get there)!

Etown is missing Swank who is one of a handful of seniors on the team and goes both ways. That along with other kids being banged up. No excuses, North came from behind and did what they needed to do to win. Props to them for doing that and being 4-0. They've got at least 3 losses on the schedule from what I see, possibly 4. You certainly did offer an excuse, as that fumble was forced by the defense, I was told. That sir, is a fact. The 4th and 10 conversion, the kid was tackled as he caught it right? I heard about that too, that's a good play on the ball is it not? C'mon sir. Give credit where it's due.

 

They can only play the teams who'll play them...I know when I was in the area back in the day, that was a problem then - trying to find teams to play. They played Scott County 2 years straight. From the looks of their recent years schedules, it's not like they've been afraid to play strong teams. So, I'm not sure what your last sentence is supposed to be implying.

 

Also bud, if you look at their recent records, you'll see that NH hasn't dominated anybody, let alone win very many games. Their schedule at the beginning of the season was one of the toughest in the state, everybody except for Meade County (?) was ranked preseason top 10, and most are still ranked. They can't help who wins and loses outside of their games lol don't think this schedule will be a reason they don't go far in the playoffs...

Ah wow...I'm not familiar with those kids, but I'm sure I'll hear those names eventually! And I'm hoping NH can carry this current momentum through the rest of this season and into next year to make it a good game! You're right, certainly a lot of ball to be played between now and then!

What's truly hilarious, is the fact that a quality talented team such as yours can't seam to play as a team. Let's call that what it is. The records speaks for themselves...let's not play that game, bud.

As I mentioned earlier, I cannot speak to this game, but it seems like the verdict is still out on North Hardin. I'm mostly curious because North will be coming to DeSales in three weeks. I saw Bankhead last year, but he was limited because we played them in a monsoon. I hope to see him at his best this year. I've heard great things about him.

I'll agree, the verdict is still out. This is a measuring stick game for sure. I hope he's full strength when they go to DeSales also!
