September 4, 201610 yr I personally expect MSU to compete against teams playing on the same level. Non-scholarship vs. scholarship is not the same level. Morehead State does well in the conference in which they play. They finished 3rd in the Pioneer League last season at 6-2, and were 7-4 overall. Other schools manage... The Pioneer League contains all 11 of the non-scholarship schools in Division 1 (FCS). As far as I know, none do very well against scholarship schools, especially the better scholarship programs. I'm not sure when the last time a Pioneer League champion got past the first round of the FCS playoffs. Dayton lost 24-7 to the Western Illinois in the first round last year.
September 7, 201610 yr Why did the Head even schedule this game? They should be playing their conference games and then filling in with D2 or NAIA teams. To me, taking non scholly kids into this game is not the same as EKU taking scholly kids into Purdue for a game.
September 8, 201610 yr "$15,000 x 75" would be my guess. Play 2 big FBS programs a season like a lot of FCS schools for $800k+ each and that number is more than covered.
September 9, 201610 yr Wait, wasn't I just told they were legit FCS? As I said before, MSU is nothing more than a D2/D3 school.
