My Top Ten KY Rankings

I don't know much about SK. Maybe I have them a little too low.

I'll take a crack at it.. here's my top 25 for entertainment purposes

1. 6A Trinity, No explanation needed, best team in KY

2. 5A Bowling Green, Not much debate here

3. 6A Male, I am not sold on them but until I see them lose (probably this week) I have to give the benefit of the doubt

4. 3A Belfry, I honestly don't think people realize just how good they are especially with the best OLine and DLine in KY.

5. 6A Simon Kenton, The Conner win gives me hesitation but the CAL win works as confirmation

6. 6A Lafayette, That Trinity blwoout looms large...but is it fair to judge them harshly? Starting to think that is going to happen to every 6A Team.

7. 6A Scott County, I don't think this is a vintage Cardinal team but they are still pretty daggone good

8. 4A Johnson Central, Two signature wins already on the young season or so it seems. They dominated a LexCath team that had St. Xavier on the ropes.

9. 6A St. Xavier, I am not as high on X as some. I think this is a very generic X team.

10. 4A South Warren, I know this will take some flak since they just lost but I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt of missing two elite players and also a questionable decision by Brandon Smith to go for two. if that game goes to OT I think they win.

11. 6A Ryle, I like this team but do question their Defense. Great QB play does a lot.

12. 6A McCracken County, they have looked unstoppable thusfar against mediocre competition. Real test this week.

13. 5A Covington Catholic, if not for the 2000 pound purple gorilla in 5A I would say this might be their year as they seem the early favorite form the East

14. 2A Mayfield, Not very big, not very deep, but boy can these guys plays like a team and have a couple elite skill players.

15. 5A Christian County, they took it on the chin to BG but most everyone will have that happen.

16. 5A Greenwood, huge upset win proves they have a solid team but I am hesitant to rate them this high for fear it was truly just one of those "1 out of 10" type of games.

17. 6A Manual, I have them here but I am not completely sold.

18. 6A PRP, Same as above... I want to see them play a good Jefferson County team.

19. 6A North Hardin, Three good wins on paper to start the year

20. 6A Central Hardin, One really good win and another "good" win by a much closer margin than it should have been

21. 2A CAL, Been playing up and had a statement blowout vs. Central

22. 6A Cooper, The Highlands loss is concerning but their 2 wins have been sharp

23. 6A Ballard, Great win vs. DeSales and were competitive against Male

24. 2A Danville, They have looked really, really sharp

25. 6A Conner, Body of work is incomplete. Beat a bad team and then played a very good team close.

I don't know much about SK. Maybe I have them a little too low.

Nah, everyone else you have on the list would beat them, plus a few not on the list.

4. 3A Belfry, I honestly don't think people realize just how good they are especially with the best OLine and DLine in KY.

ATL,

Like this list:

- 90% of the people on this site will never ever see Belfry play and that is sad and they could play with the teams above them.

- Very interesting on South Warren, but I also think very true (GW hadn't scored since basically the 1st Quarter). Sometimes you just go with your gut feel.

- Love Ryle's QB - He is the real deal!

- I don't know anything about CovCath really. Can they beat Highlands this year? Plus, aren't they on the same side of the bracket as BG now that we have cross-bracketing?

- I think Greenwood is for real and will continue to be for at least 1 more year.

- Can Manual beat St X? I don't think they get Male, but if they can beat St X they will host a first round game and I think that would be big for them.

- PRP finishes the year with John Hardin, Trinity, St X, Male, Butler, Manual, Central. I think that data will give you a good idea on them at that time.

- Don't know much about N Hardin, but they intrigue me. Are they senior laden? Have good wins, but I don't know.

- If Central Hardin wants to be taken seriously, they need to win on Friday v a depleted S Warren club.

-

Sw doesn't deserve TOP 10 right now but this is a very inexperienced team but if Sw beats both Hardins andFranlin Simpson and FS beats Greenwood.then yes top 10.
