Oldercoach Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Just saw on WKYT that Rick Massie, former UK Wildcat and Denver Bronco wide receiver was charged today on multiple accounts of inappropriate behavior involving junior high girls he taught at Bourbon Co. Junior High. Rick was a dependable receiver in the early 80's and according to the media had his NFL career of 3 or 4 years cut short due to an anxiety related to flying. He is a native of Bourbon Co. and middle school football coach.
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Bourbon Co. middle school teacher accused of harassing students BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Bourbon County Middle School teacher is facing several charges over alleged incidents involving students. The Bourbon County Sheriff's Office served Richard "Rick" Massie with a criminal summons earlier this month, charging him with nine counts of Harassment with Physical Contact. WKYT obtained a copy of those documents. In the warrants, it claims that Massie harassed two different students, subjecting them to unwanted physical contact. One victim said that on several occasions, Massie would kiss her on the forehead and also repeatedly caress her on the side of her body near her breasts. The documents also say that on one occasion, Massie "put his hand on the lower back, upper buttocks of the juvenile." According to the warrant, after school hours one day, Massie was seen in his classroom with no lights on, rubbing the legs of the victim. The offenses reportedly occurred between September 2015 and March 2016. A different student accused Massie of similar behavior. According to a warrant, Massie would often give the juvenile a ride to school. The student accused Massie of rubbing her thighs on at least one occasion. The warrant goes on to say that just prior to Christmas break in 2015, Massie hugged the victim, wrapping his arms around her, before touching her buttocks and pulling her in close to him. During another incident, Massie is accused of hugging the girl and whispering in her ear, "Don't worry, Daddy's got you." In March of 2016, Massie reportedly bumped into the girl at the Paris Walmart. The juvenile says he got too close to her, making her feel uncomfortable. The girl's aunt saw what happened and became alarmed. The warrant says she separated Massie and the girl. The warrant goes on to say that Massie admitted to most of the allegations, but attempted to justify his conduct under the guise of religion/emotional support. WKYT has called the Bourbon County Superintendent's Office to get a comment on the allegations and to verify Massie's status of employment. At this time, our call has not been returned. Massie is still listed as a teacher on the Bourbon County Middle School's website. Massie coached the football team at Bourbon County High School from 2006 to 2008. He also played football at the University of Kentucky from 1981 to 1983. Massie was also a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos for two seasons in 1987 and 1988.
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 "Daddy's got you" caused a visceral reaction. Very much so, yes. And then I revisited the reaction after reading that he's trying to explain it away as offering "religious/emotional support". Disgusting.
Hatz Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Rick Massie has long been a piece of work IMO. This should surprise me but doesn't.
lawildcat Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Stories like this make me absolutely sick to my stomach.
Wireman Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 I was just about to go to lunch then I read, "don't worry, Daddy's got you." :eyeonyou::puke:
