How many of the BGP 5A top ten lose this week?

Featured Replies

Last week went pretty much as expected for the class 5A top ten. The teams that were expected to win took care of business, with Covington Catholic being the only top ten team to lose. That loss was expected by most as it came to a top ten 6A team. This week, things heat up for the 5A top ten, figuratively and literally as most of the state will see low to mid 90 degree temperatures Friday. One thing is for sure, at least one of the BGP 5A top ten will take a loss this week as #1 Bowling Green hosts #3 Christian County.

Outside of the early season top 3 matchup between the Purples and Colonels, #2 Fern Creek visits 6A #7 Manual in which will be a huge test for the Tigers. It's certainly not a make or break game for them in terms of how their season will pan out, but it will certainly be a tough game to win at Manual Memorial Stadium.

Pulaski County (5A #7) hosts 6A #6 Scott County this week. To be honest, the Maroons were not that impressive last week versus Harlan County, though they did do what they needed to to pick up the win. This week will be much tougher, can Pulaski pull off the upset?

South Oldham (5A #8) travels to Louisville to take on Doss this week. Last week both teams both teams posted wins with South Oldham beating a solid Anderson County team 31-14, while Doss blanked 6A Jeffersontown 40-0. Doss is a team to watch this season in class 5A and is certainly capable of knocking off the Dragons at home. What do you think?

Southwestern (5A #9) travels to Danville to take on the Admirals. Danville is a top 4 2A team with a ton of tradition and rabid fanbase. Will the Warriors take care of business or will the Admirals win their home opener?

What do the bluegrasspreps members think? Feel free to add any other teams. This should be an exciting week in which only one top ten team is certain to lose. If the teams not named Bowling Green and Christian county all post wins this week it would be a surprise to most, though not necessarily bad losses.

Let us know what you think!

My early gut says four.

Christian County

Covington Catholic

Southwestern

Pulaski County

Fern Creek has a good game this week. I haven't decided if they pull it out yet. My early guy says they win.

Unsure about South Oldham and Doss as well.

If Madisonville can force some OHS turnovers, slow down Board, and hit some big plays themselves, it could be an upset special

Going...

Christian County

Fern Creek

Covington Catholic

Pulaski

Southwestern vs Danville will be a great game. Not sure which way to go on that one.

Highlands is not a lock. To much unknown between Birds vs Camels.

Birds coming off an impressive showing. Camels have been playing competitive ball, just will need to finish drives .

CovCath wins this week. @PurplePride92 I didn't steer you wrong in a text last week, won't this week. Colonels beat Oak Hills (OH).

Worst part is that I still brain farted and put CCH for the win. Not sure why or how that happened.

Okay.

My new gut says:

Southwestern

Christian County

Pulaski County

On the fence with:

Fern Creek

South Oldham

Pulaski loses in a good game, Southwestern is going to get smoked. If Doss plays a great game, I can see them beating South Oldham as well.
