The Camels gave this one away. East Central scores 2 TDs on a 90 yd INT return and a punt return. The D looked solid and did not allow big plays. Camels QB needs to mature quickly because the team will go as far as he can take them. Supposedly, East Central is a top 5 team in Indiana. They didn't look like a top tier team. Big test for the Camels next week. Practice, prepare and execute.

Mature quickly? They were in the red zone 6 times and he never got flustered. Looked pretty composed to me.

Where was this one played?

 

If at East Central, they have one of the most impressive overall facilities (school/athletic).....Casino money buys alot of nice things.

A strong defensive performance was key as the Trojans were victorious in their first game of the season. Senior Garren Messmore scored twice including a 70-yard punt return. Dillon Watkins starred on defense with two interceptions including a 85-yard TD.

EC is a top 5 team in Indiana 4A. They are not a top 5 team in the state. In fact, even after their run to the state championship game last year, they were ranked 45th in the state overall. The Trojans are a hard nosed bunch that have a run the ball first, play tough defense identity (think Boone County under Hauck or Bell County under Hilton). That formula serves them well in the Indiana playoffs when the weather turns cold/rainy.

Just watched the first half.

 

Usually when a fan says "no way CC should have lost that game" I'm skeptical about what that means. Not in this case.

 

Camels completely dominated the first half. EC ran a total of 11 offensive plays that resulted in 1 first down and 17 total yards. Campbell had at least 200 yards of total offense.

 

Halftime score - EC 14 Campbell 7

 

Not sure about blaming the coach for an interception return when the ball was right on target and the ball bounces off the receivers breast plate and is returned 85 yards for a TD or blaming the coach for a very nice athletic punt return.

 

Campbell passing game looks good, running game not so much.

Second half- how many different offensive sets or even plays were there? Other QB can run like a deer to the outside, and running the middle on a stacked house doesn't give the running back much of a chance. Maybe 2 plays outside the tackles in the second half or maybe in the game
