Goodin and tony Jackson? Yes there is major separation between those two.. Don't compare with Q Goodin has to tony jackson because Q Goodin is the best "overall player" to come thru this region in the last decade. Tony is a great player but Q was a top 100 player according to some. Tony Jackson? Not quite....

I stand corrected on my assessment of goodin as far as his offer sheet, I was hadn't done my research. But Jackson can be just as dominant on the floor this season as Goodin was, in my humble opinion. To go along with that, he and the new Young kid may be a better tandem. We shall see though, would love to be in the area and catch some of their games this season!

UHA plays in the phenom Joe Miller invitational holiday tournament in Wilmington North Carolina. The tournament features Hamilton Heights (TN), Union City ( TN), Word of God (NC), Oldsmar Christian (FL) and many other elite teams. If they can win a game there I think they'll be the real deal.

Enough to be mentioned in the top 10? And didn't they also lose a lot to graduation?

The sad truth is that colleges aren't overlooking Hoptown but that most Hoptown athletes can't qualify for anything but junior college after high school. The coaches and administrators at County and Hoptown are failing these kids. They should be watching out for the young men and women and pushing them to make sure they academically qualify for the NCAA. Unfortunately most of the Hoptown athletes of the last 5 years have been forced to head to Juco and most don't last.

 

In the past 5 years, I'm not sure anyone but Jordan Majors qualified D1 academically.

 

I'm not from Hoptown and don't have a dog in the fight but I wish all their athletes were getting pushed academically enough that they would be qualifiers and have the opportunity to go D1.

 

Not disagreeing because I am not from there but what about these players parents failing them. If they are not eligible to play D1 then that is 100% on the players and the parents themselves. Now schools can tell them what it takes to be eligible which in all honesty is not much. But to put the blame off on coaches and administrators is a straight copout in my opinion.
