August 17, 201610 yr Disco ankle was clearly bothering him or I think he pitches the 7th based on his stuff and pitch count. Gutted out the 6th. Glad Cingrani gave up Ichiro's hit to complete the circuit of ballparks. No clue what Holt was doing in RF barrel rolling all over the place but didn't really matter if he was at 2B or 3B in the 9th. Nice to see Schebler finally breaking out of his season long slump. Give him 50-75 ABs and see what he can do. That defensive outfield last night (Renda, Schebler & Holt) - YIKES! Barnhart has earned more time this year. In a perfect world, he'd be a competent switch-hitting backup that doesn't hurt you on defense. For the Reds, they are trying to figure out if he can be the full time starter or at least a platoon player. Welsh makes a good point that production batting 8th can be tough because there are times when you are not given much to hit with the P behind you. Have to make a decision to swing at a marginal pitch to drive in a run to avoid P making last out OR take the walk and get the P up that inning so he doesn't lead off the next.
