My great-grandfather (one generation removed from Ellis Island) was a one-term mayor of Annapolis (state capital). His son - my grandfather - was tabbed to be named to the state racing commission after the election in 1964. As fate would have it, the first Republican governor in eleventy billion years was elected, and pops didn't get the call. Most of us Terrapins still remember with varying degrees of disgust that particular governor. The illustrious Spiro T. Agnew.
August 7, 201610 yr I've come to the conclusion that people in government, especially elected politicians, are in the HRC camp because she is a lifetime politician and will allow the status quo of politics to continue. Donald Trump is not a politician. He threatens the political way of life and most elected politicians are threatened by him. IMO, the number 1 problem with our country is the disconnect between politicians and the American people. This disconnect comes from lifetime politicians and elected officials that have not been in the real world for quite some time. I am not sure what it would take to get congressional term limits, but I think term limits would be the best thing to happen to our country. There is a reason the president has term limits. It's because the founding fathers did not want a king. Instead, we have Kings and Queens in congress and it is a real problem in our country. The same thing it took to get presidential term limits, a constitutional amendment and there's no way on Earth the carreers will ever vote for that.
