With Bill Mike Runyon stepping down, who will Paintsville turn to next?

Most likely Landon Slone

They should hire J.R. VanHoose if he's interested.

Sounds like Bill Mike was forced out.

Just reached Bill Mike Runyon, who confirmed report he has stepped down as Paintsville boys basketball coach, "not of my choosing."

It wont be JR VanHoose. He has posted on a couple of media sites he is not interested and happy where he is at.

If he isn't interested, then they should look at another former Tiger who will be passionate enough to get the program rolling again.

Crazy time to be replacing a coach.

Is this in reference to a former Paintsville alumnus that has coached at the college ranks at the highest level. Nothing like going for the fences to make a coaching hire.

Didn't they have to beg Coach to get him back from his first retirement? For an individual that has done so much for a program to not be able to determine when it's time to go isn't right. Coach Runyon and his entire family have been nothing but class to me and I truly hate to see his career end this way. Whomever the next coach is they sure have a big pair of Alligators to fill.

Just spoke more with Bill Mike Runyon. Clarifies he didn't feel "forced" out, but says Paintsville wanted him to take "substantial" pay cut.
